I got deferred at UGA EA! What are my chances now?

I’m a female from Massachusetts and UGA is my TOP CHOICE. My sister is a Junior there and is on the Presidential Leadership Scholarship!! I applied EA deadline and was deferred (my sister was too) so I’m wondering what my chances are of getting in now! Also I’m wondering if my sister attending will help me at all??

SAT- (new) 1360 (710 English & 650 Math)
UGA GPA- 3.65
W GPA- 4.15
APs- By the end of this year I will have taken 8 AP courses
(I know these stats aren’t super impressive, but I’m hoping my extracurriculars can help me)

Sports-
Varsity Girls Swim Team, Varsity Girls Field Hockey Team, Varsity Lacrosse Team (4 Years for all)
Varsity Lacrosse Captain Senior Year
Awarded All Star award twice in my region for lacrosse

Extracurriculars-
Yearbook Committee
Science Club
International Language Club
Student Delegate at Massachusetts “Day on the Hill” event
Mock Trial Juror at my local Juvenile Court
Winter Club Lacrosse Team
Summer Club Lacrosse Team

Volunteer Work-
Local food bank
My city’s annual festival
Local theatre volunteer

Work-
Congressional Internship (Which I think may be impressive to admissions)
Camp Counselor
Hostess
Cashier at Local Farm

Honors-
NHS inductee
Second Place award on the National Latin Exam
Back to back regional All Star awards in Lacrosse 2015 & 2016

If you chance me I’ll chance back!

I am an OOS student that got in during EA, and I think your stats and test scores look quite solid. I do not know if having a sister there will help you, but your extracurriculars certainly will. Make sure you have a great essay and I think your chances are great.

Can I ask you a question about the presidential leadership scholarship your sister has? Did she find out about that when she was admitted, or a few weeks later? I have quite a few extracurriculars and lots of leadership positions, as well as a ton of community service, and I was hoping to be considered for that scholarship.

@Andrew1996 Thanks so much!! I’m definitely going to make sure my 4 essays are really good! And she actually found out a few weeks after she got in. She was deferred EA, got in RD, and then received an email a few weeks, maybe a month later telling her she had received the scholarship! I’m not sure if they still do it that way, but they might! She had a ton of extracurriculars (including a congressional internship and a week long national young leadership conference), a 4.25 GPA at my school, but weak test scores (around a 1650 on the old SAT).
