Brown always says they really care about interest in the school. Does getting deferred early increase my chances come april or am I in the same boat as everybody else who is applying RD.

I have never seen statistics released from Brown that show the acceptance rate of deferred ED applicants. So I don’t think there is a definitive answer to your question. You can theorize that you have an advantage, but there is no proof.

I do know that deferred applicants help themselves by communicating with the admissions office to indicate that Brown is still their first choice, and by giving any updated information. Many deferred applicants apply to other college’s ED II programs or decide another school is their first choice. So you shouldn’t assume that by applying ED, that alone is adequate indication of interest.
