<p>I know that if you don't "demonstrate interest", schools usually ignore you- how do I combat this? This also pretty much applies to anyone who gets deferred from any school. Should I just send an email? What should I say?</p>
<p>I think it’s a fallacy that one can write a letter ‘showing interest’ as all students are interested, or they wouldn’t have applied in the first place. </p>
<p>Better than professing your unabated love for a school, send an update with something that shows what you will contribute to the school, rather than saying what the school will do for you.</p>
