I applied to UCSD, UCSB, UCI AND UCLA. I got denied from San Diego State and I’m afraid I wont get into any of my Uc’s, my SAT is really low (1400), ACT(22) and weighted gpa 4.3, I have over 100 community service hours and 2 alright personal statements. I’m really afraid, I don’t want to go to community college.
Not to be a Debbie Downer but how did you formulate your college list? Your GPA is great but your test scores are low for the UC’s listed. UC’s consider GPA/test scores/HS course rigor /essays and then EC’s. Unless you have some extraordinary circumstances that make you a stand out applicant, you may end up at a CC. You have mainly Reach schools on your list and no solid match or safeties.
The CC route is a well defined option and by using TAG, you could transfer into one of the UC’s. All you can do is wait and see. Sorry and good luck.
I took all honors and 8 AP classes (counting senior year) is it possible that they could ignore my test scores and focus on everything else? and Thank you!
Anything is possible but not probable. There is always a chance.

Also, look on your UC application to see if you are in the top 9% of your high school class. If you are, from my understanding, you will be admitted to UC Merced automatically. I know UCM is not the best UC, but it’s better than nothing since you do not want to go to CC.
UCLA, UCSB, UCSD = 0% chance.
UCI = 10%.
You seem good at getting grades, though, so CC transfer to any of those schools is very high odds.
U may have a chance at UCI and UCSB, not much at UCLA. Also do u have any particular reason for not wanting to f to a CC? It’s not as bad as u think, depending on which CC u go to.
The UC’s consider your unweighted GPA.
Your test stats are not considered competitive for the UC’s. To have been considered competitive for the UC’s, you needed at least a minimum score of 2000 on your SAT and, at least a 27 on your ACTs. (AP scores don’t matter much when it comes to admission since they only count in your GPA.) Where was your Guidance counselor???
I agree with @Gumbymom: how did you create your list? There are lots of reaches on your list. If you received your ELC letter, then you may have an option with Merced, but it will be expensive.
The UCs recalculate your GPA and then look at your GPA and your test scores, first and foremost. Yes, they look at your EC’s but honestly, everything else is secondary.
SDSU is the second most popular CSU in the state and chooses its students mostly from the local area. They are also a very impacted campus.
Going to a CC is a very good option because the UC’s prioritize CCC transfer students, which means you get first dibs as an incoming CC Junior. A lot of people use the CC’s to get into their desired UC.
Thanks everyone, I got in UC Irvine and Uc Santa Barbara
