I got email reply by Admissions Officer, but what dest it mean?

I have three classes this semester
One of these class is not require for me in Cal. (I took it for UCLA, but now I decide to go to Cal)
I sent an email to the Admissions Officer and ask her will that be a problem for me if I withdraw this class, I told her I have more than 60 units even if I drop this one, and this class is neither a admission nor graduate prerequisite for my major.

but she answered me just like that
"Thank you for the update, it is noted that you will be dropping the Chemistry 1B class"

anyone knows what does that mean? Am I safe to drop the class right now?

thX!!!

This is the reason why I always use phone over email.

ryan: I think you should call to make sure. It doesn't seem like the person had a clue about what you were asking. Or maybe you didn't use the "?" after your question. eh

they respond with some generic thing first to confirm that they got the change and then they send u an email saying what their decision is

oh...
so how long do I need to wait for the decision?

perhaps they were thrown off by your poor grammar

it seems that they think u dropped it already.
i would call immediately if i were u

"perhaps they were thrown off by your poor grammar"

Doubt that. I've seen kids who could barely construct a sentence asking for advice on choosing Cal over LA. The UC's seem to have a high tolerance for foreign students who communicate in this manner. I always wonder what their personal statements must look like. I guess if you can solve complex math problems your ability to communicate doesn't matter?

to be honest i highly doubt that
if in a personal statement a person cannot convey his ideas due to basic grammar issues then i doubt they will consider
lets look at it this way, a ton of people had better stats than me but their grammar is kinda... u know...
and they coulda taken it to their professors to check through but they didn't

i think it also shows how much people care about their personal statements
well those that really care and smoothen out their essay and get in with stellar grades, many whom can't even speak fluent english.

well atleast thats what i heard about some students at where i m going >_>

"but she answered me just like that
"Thank you for the update, it is noted that you will be dropping the Chemistry 1B class""

I think this means it's fine. If not, I think she would have said something.

=.= oh well if u think its fine its fine i guess

ryan3908109, did you get a reply yet? I also emailed a week ago saying that I MAY have to drop a class and asked if it will affect my status and they replied saying "thank you for your update..." and said that I would get a response in about 7 days. It's been 12 days and I still didnt get anything...

What should I do?

Oh, btw, I actually dropped the class now. It's a class that is recommended since it is equivalent to a class at Cal IN NAME because even if i take the course I would have to retake it at Cal anyway.

You still have to fill out the provisional form on the ucla website if you are dropping a class.

UCLA Undergrad Admissions: New Bruins - Reporting Changes - Transfer Students

I call her, and she said I can drop it and it won't affect my admission

Did you guys that dropped the class transfer successfully? I mean without getting rescinded?

I know this thread was from last year… but meh… I’m desperate!

can anyone give me their #??
