if we applied through a paper application, will we also get sent a notification e-mail? i mailed my application on 10/14, so when can i expect notification if I'm admitted?

i just signed up for a friend account for wolverine access. when i try to sign in it asks for a um-id, and they never gave me one. what do i enter in that field?

pixamelon: Hard to say; too many variables. First, you need time for the readers to evaluate your application. How quickly they can do that depends on the flow of applications at the time. Then, it depends on what's happening with admit decisions after your app is evaluated. They don't send admit letters every week. In weeks when they are admitting, they may not be admitting apps with your evaluation rating that particular week. So it could be 3 weeks, it could be 12 weeks.

Sonic: Nobody applied ED. Michigan does not have ED.

i dont understand how u guys are admitted, im sure the deadline for UMICH is "far" from now. And if there isnt ED or EA how can u guys be admitted so fast? i didnt even start my application for UMICH, am I way behind? i was planning to start my U mich app in November

o.o; dude, not to sound preachy, but how much research have you done about University of Michigan? I swear that's one of the first things you hear about their application process.

Sonic power, Michigan has Rolling Admissions (first come, first serve). Basically, that means Michigan will respond between 3 and 8 weeks after receiving all your documents. If a student sends all her/his documents by September 30, chances are, she/he would hear back from the University in mid October.

Those who send in their applications in December and January are at a disadvantage if they are borderline. Of course, if you are a 4.0 student with a 1400+ on the original sections of the SAT, you have nothing to fear. But if you are a 3.5-3.7 student and your SAT is in the 1250-1350 range, then you could be in trouble.
