I got an admissions packet by Fedex this afternoon. I found that they offered me 28,000$ faculty scholarship for four years. Here's my stat.
Out of State
GPA: 4.5(W)
SAT: 2130
SAT2: 800 750 720
Political Science major
What is the highest award that one can receive from IU?
Is IU an okay school? I'm not feeling very happy about this. And how rural is it?

Wow you have some outstanding stats... I also got the 28,000 faculty award which is the highest that they pay out to an out of state kid..why arent you happy about 28,000???? IU is an excellent school for business and it is also well known for its music program but i have no clue about how good the polticial science program is. check the rankings but it is a beautiful school nevertheless. i can't to go there during spring break with a friend

Where else have you applied?

There is no requirement that you feel good, happy or otherwise, or that you attend the school. You must have wanted us to know about your award or you wouldn't have posted here.

What's funny is the OP would have had a full ride at IU if they showed interest early in the year, rather than applying there as a safety late.

I am also looking into political science, Indiana is pretty high ranked in that department and a Law and American Society teacher at my school went to Indiana undergrad as a political science major and ended up at University of Chicago Law school, which is very highly ranked. He said he loved it and the campus is great and the entire town of bloomington is very fun. Also, with your stats you could prob have gotten into some higher ranked political science schools, such as Michigan. Where else did you apply?
