I'm Asian and I got my acceptance package over a week ago...

I know that it doesn't matter...because the decision has been made (I was rejected ED :( ) but I wanted to compare my qualifications to those who were accepted:

3.76 GPA(unweighted) SATs: 800 V 760 W 640 M SAT IIs: 790 Lit. 750 USHis. 670 Spanish, plus Editor if Lit. Journal, Pres of Young Dems, Officer of Thesp. Society, & others BUT I was in the top 25% of graduating class

WHY am i not hearing??!!
this is killing me.

AEO2010, I have stats so similar to yours, it's scary, so I don't think it helps to compare. College admissions are weird.

after reading "The Gatekeepers"- which I think everyone applying to Wesleyan should read, you realize that the decision process involves a LOT of intangibles. you may have stats way above the wes average and get rejected while a person with much lower stats and the same extra curriculars as you gets in... yes, my stats were above average and I got in ED I, but I know full well that others with equivalent apps didn't. it may be what state you're from, if any others from your high school applied, your ethnicity, or a personal connection your essay makes with an admission officer that pushes your decision from an "admit minus" or "deny plus" to an "admit" (the rankings of which are fully explain in the book)... good luck to those still waiting and congrats to my potential wes 2010 classmates!

i got my Fedex package ~!

Where do you live omgplease?

ahh yes! i just got my acceptance package today, i'm in new jersey. woohoo!

waitlisted. i thought i would have been rejected

Haven't heard anything here in the Great Lakes region yet.

got mine Saturday. Outer New England.

Did anyone else get a hanwritten notecard from their senior interviewer?

I got my acceptance package today in Texas! After reading "The Gatekeepers" last fall, I pretty much convinced myself I would be rejected. I doubt I'll end up at Wes, though.

Hey, thanks for the reply...I was feeling kinda down about the whole college admissions thing when I wrote that, but I feel much better now that I got into my 2 second choices (Oberlin & Kenyon). So good luck at Wes and hip hip (universal) class of 2010!

I'm so happy for you, AEO2010! Good luck!

Accepted! Package arrived today in north Florida.

My D got her acceptance today. And, yes, it was accompanied by a personal note from her senior interviewer.

FINALLY got in! Was really sweating it over the weekend.

Accepted! How does the need-based aid compare with other colleges? My son accidentally left Wesleyan off our Profile form, so don't know yet about financial aid. Anyone? From most to least our list is:

Carleton
Macalester
Colorado
Occidental

I am very excited to be accepted to Wesleyan. I was also accepted to Carleton (in addition to a few other liberal arts schools) and Wesleyan by far gave me the best financial aid. Carleton gave me the worst, by far. Now I am trying to decide between Middlebury (whose financial aid means I have to pay about $4500 more than Wesleyan a year, or I have the AP/IB credits to graduate a semester early at Midd and then it would be approximately $2500 more than Wesleyan a year). Anyone have any advice on which I should choose?

Quiltguru - I had my fingers crossed that your D would get in. :D
