I Got In!!

Do you live in Switzerland?
That would mean that I should get the letter by Monday too.
After being rejected from Smith and Wellesley I am afraid that I only got the acceptence e-mail by mistake...

I do live in the land of cheese, chocolate, and timelyness. Or however you spell that. I'm sure you will get it on Monday too. (Or even Saturday?) They would not make a mistake online, because they could get sued. :D
Hey, I got rejected by Wellesley... chin up! Bryn Mawr is awesome! Be proud. :)

I am proud :D

I don't recall which school but I have read about a university that sent acceptance e-mails to everyone by mistake last year. The next day everyone received another e-mail that straightened that out. I cannot imagine how disappointed everyone must have been.

I really hope though that Bryn Mawr will be more generous than MHC...

Maybe we will meet at Bryn Mawr ;) Which school are you tending towards right now?

That story really is scary! But don't worry, you have awesome stats!
Maybe we will meet on that gorgeous campus! That would be lovely. :) I can't really say where my preferences lie. I think the decision will be really, really hard. MHC, BMC, and Smith are all awesome schools, and I know I would be happy at all of them! What about you? Will you be hearing back from other schools soon? I think that April will bring a whole book of pro-con lists! (At least they are fun :))
Hey, it's way past out bedtime! :D

I know. I should be sleeping but talking to you is much more fun :)
If finances are not an issue, the only school I would choose above Bryn Mawr is Penn, but I am 99% sure that I won't get in.
If I had been accepted to Wellesley or Smith, it would have been a though choice to make but luckily fate spared me from that ;)

Where else are you applying?

officially accepted! :) i think i kinda knew after the senior admissions dean sent a personal email commenting on my essay...it was really personal and i was touched by it...ugh...hard choices already >_<

Sorry, B@r!um - I fell asleep. :D
I applied to Brown, Bryn Mawr, Dartmouth, Mount Holyoke, Smith, Vassar, Wellesley, and Williams. I am not expecting to get into the majority of these schools. I'd say that almost all are reaches. I did not apply to safeties, as I might just get my Bachelor at the University of Zurich in Switzerland and then go to the States after that. (I have two passports.) What about you? Penn is great (it was on my list for a while, but definitely hard to get in to - for me that reach will be Brown, Dartmouth, and Williams. Not getting my hopes up about Vassar either. ;)

So, as a current BMC frosh, I have to tell you that all of the seven sisters look for very different things. Because BMC accepts one and maybe Wellesley doesn't actually doesn't mean anything: each college has a unique personality. All of the applicants are intelligent enough to excel on any campus they choose, so a smart admissions office accepts based on the culture of the school.

Congratulations to all of you! West-Coasters, please read this: I LIVE ON THE WEST COAST, AND DID NOT GET A PHONE CALL. I don't even remember getting an email before the letter.

Please come to Admitted Students weekend, ladies. We throw a huge fiesta of fun, and I'll be helping work it. I can't wait to see you all there.

swiss_mj, you didn't sleep very long though, did you :D

Besides the women's colleges I applied to Colby, Trinity and Penn.
If no college gives me enough aid, I will stay in Germany for undergraduate and try my luck again for grad school. But I would looooove to attend Bryn Mawr ;)

I never do! But somehow I still manage to to just get to school on time... :D I am exhausted now though... :)

So, I see we have veeery similar plans. I think they're awesome, and I love Bryn Mawr too!! I can't wait for Monday's news...

Waitlisted.......

i'm in- but ;rolly go to lafayette where i got into yhe scholar program anf money

Waitlisted also =( sigh

Okay, it was really nagging me that Bryn Mawr was the only school that didn't have Yesterday or Today as the most recent post for the Top LACs. I'm kind of weird :P

Why is Bryn Mawr not included on the general list of colleges anyway? I mean, it doesn't BUG me that we have to go through the Top LACs list but. Just wondering. bg

And. Um. Uh. Congrats everyone! And I'm sorry to those who were disappointed :( loves on everyone

So, what do you guys think? Going to Bryn Mawr or not? Or still deciding? XD I REALLY want to go to Bryn Mawr (you guys probably would never have guessed, though, right? ;)) but I also got accepted into Reed and I still do like Hollins. I'm absolutely torn. Bryn Mawr is my top choice but those two schools are pretty awesomazingtastic, too. Ahh!

At least I have one month to decide, lol. sigh

Bringing this forum back to life is a great idea :D

I will definitely attend BMC if finances work out. The fin aid office is currently reviewing my fin aid app and I am hoping to hear good news next week.

Yes, I was definitely disappointed that this thread grew empty after all the decisions...!

Who's going to the Open Campus Days? I'm actually really excited about those. I can't wait to meet all of you guys. But I have to fill out that Overnight Waiver ASAP!!

Looks like I'm going to attending Bryn Mawr in the Fall. It was always my first choice, and I only applied to a few other schools.

:)

As a Bryn Mawr parent, just wanted to welcome all you young women. I urge you to go to accepted students days; sitting in on a class really convinced my daughter to attend. As a frosh, she has found intellectual peers, challenging classes, and an active social life (attends clubs/events at BM, Haverford, and Swat). Welcome to a wonderful opportunity! She was a kid not sure she wanted the all women's environment, but has found it quite collegial - not "catty" like high school. The emphasis on self government and the honor code is particularly impressive to her! They treat you like an adult!

hey guys! i definitely think im going to bryn mawr. however, the financial aid they offered me wasnt that great and i am really hoping they will give me a LOT more after i appeal.

:)
