I Got In!!!!!!!!

awwh. I think they may be doing it alphabetically because I know friends of mine with last names in the s and o's who haven't heard.

It also may depend on who your admissions counselor is, it varies for each region.

I'm an "L"...

I don't think they're doing it alphabetically because my last name begins with "y" and I got my decision on Wednesday. Freestyla don't worry about it too much..everything will be okay. =)

But it can also vary on your location, because each region has a different admissions officer. So it may depend on that too!

anyone knows anything about scholarships? Do they come with the admission letter?...I really dont know if I qualify for anything...but just being curious...because the big part of me going to Binghamton is getting some financial aid

Viperm90, I'm not sure about scholarships. But they can't let you know about financial aid until after you fill out FAFSA, which you can't do until after jan. 1st!

And that's another problem of mine, the only reason I wouldn't go to Binghamton, other than if Brown gives me a full ride and a miracle occurs, is the money issue.

I'm just praying it all works out in the end.

Money at Bing is seriously an issue for you guys?

I thought the place was as cheap as it gets... And I heard that they give little financial aid because of how inexpensive tuition already is.

Bing is pretty cheap, but do you have 17 grand in your pocket for each year you attend school!?

And through FAFSA and TAP, you can get financial aid as well. Not just through the school.

Im OOS so as cheap as it is it still comes out to be around 21k (total cost of attendance)...which I CANT afford...If the price doesnt come down somehow to like around 10k...whther its through grants scholarships or whatever (not loans!!)..I simply wont attened...I jsut cant afford that...considering I am paying for college tuition all by myself

btw pefected, what's TAP?

Viperm90, Tuition Assistance Program, it's a New York State financial aid thing. I'm sure whichever state you're from has something equivalent.

Only, I think TAP, or a state fin. aid program only applies if you're going to school in-state, but I'm not positive on that.

TAP is for New York students at New York colleges. I think the family has to make under $80,000. 21K is really good for OOS; as a New York resident, my kids would pay about $30,000-$40,000 to go to state college in any other state! But its all expensive if you're going full time and have to pay the whole thing yourself.

Agreed with Muffy.

I loved Binghamton when I went to visit but I found out that they dont have a football team, that was a huge disappointment to me.

haha slugger...its a dissapointment to all sports fans on bing's campus, but having a football team doesnt make economic sense for the school just yet.

Anyone else hear yet?
