I got in!

Just checked my application status online: admitted!!

Thought you guys might like to know that decisions are starting to go up!

Absolutely! Thanks for the update. And Congrats!!

Congrats! Was it posted on your status or did you get an email?

Ooops…also, when did you apply/complete your application?

Thanks! It was posted in my status on the Gibson page. I sent the online part of my application in early September, sent my SAT scores when I got them in May, and they received my transcript and everything else from my school last week.

If you don’t mind me asking, did you apply single choice early action or just early action?

congratulations!!!

kreativekat- I applied regular early action
shulie- thanks!

whoazoe - I just saw your stats on another thread. Very impressive. Did you take the SAT again? If you got your score up to even 2200 (lol, sounds funny to say that, most people would kill for a 2200) you would have a shot at the DHS full tuition scholarship. Are you thinking of applying for it?

Thanks fallenchemist- I’m definitely applying for the DHS. Since you seem to have some experience with it- I’m re-taking my SAT in November; do you think they’ll be able to consider that score for my scholarship application?

Yes, I definitely think they will. The award announcements are made in the third week of February, so a lot of the judging is done in January/early February, especially trying to pick the 75 winners from what has no doubt been winnowed down to a few hundred from thousands of entries. They would have your new scores in December, so it should be no problem. It wouldn’t hurt, though, after you see your scores and assuming they are what you hope, to send an e-mail to your admissions counselor and ask them to insure that the new scores become part of your DHS file.

BTW, I am going to try and keep track of what scholarships students get offered upon admission along with their stats. If you don’t mind, could you post that when it arrives? Or PM me if you would rather it not be public. Thanks.

Congrats on your admission! Hopefully you will post front-channel what scholarship you are offered. We’d all like to share in your good news.

thanks! I will be sure to post when/if I’m offered scholarships :)

lucky… congrats.

still anxious…

Are decisions sent out in the order that apps are submitted? I submitted my application in very early september, a couple weeks before my friend, and she just got accepted. I still haven’t heard anything. Is this a bad sign?

No, it can depend on other factors. Is your application showing complete? Are you sure you checked the EA box?

Yes and yes.

Well, I just looked at your stats again and unless there is something I am missing, you should get in for sure. You would be in the top 10-15% for Tulane overall. Could just be where you are in the “pile” as they go through them all. I bet you see something change online this week. You should apply for the DHS, also. Maybe a bit of a long shot, but your record is strong. Just depends on the competition this year.

ok, thank you so much!

congratulations!!
