Of getting in? Almost certainly, with some scholarship money. Hard to say how much, it depends on where that 3.6 puts you in your class and how many AP’s or similar courses you have taken.

walkwitadip and jtayloruk - Great news! Takes a lot of the pressure off, doesn’t it.

jtayloruk, mind sharing your stats? GPA (UW)/class rank, AP courses, and standardized test scores would be helpful.

I received my letter, and have a $20k scholarship.

My stats are:

ACT 30
SAT 2040
6 AP courses
4.0 weghted GPA
EC is heavy on soccer
sister attends Tulane

Does the $20k sound like a good outcome based on the above?
Is there a chance I could get more by appealing, and how to do so?
Thanks

I think the Founders is dead on for your stats, kicker. It is a good outcome, an appeal would not be helpful in your case IMO. Congrats! As the old saying goes, it definitely beats a sharp stick in the eye, lol.

Just checked Gibson and was accepted! Waiting on acceptance letter.

Does Tulane renew the Gibson status daily?

Yes, I would feel very confident in saying there are application decisions being made every day now and that these are updated in the system on a daily basis.

Well then, I feel as if I won’t be getting in. It appears as if some people are hearing back in less than a week, and my application has been “completed” for about a week now… and I feel nervous that I won’t get in.

sh1993 - Honestly, that doesn’t mean anything. There are a lot of variables, especially this close to the deadline. If you really have a shot at Georgetown, you certainly should have one at Tulane. In any case, don’t over read the tea leaves.

Wow…just went on to Gibson with our son and he was ACCEPTED!!! What a wonderful gift before Thanksgiving. For those who are waiting, he sent in his application about three weeks ago, but it didn’t show complete until Monday which was strange because his high school sends one complerte package. It is not sent piece by piece. That was a fast turnaround, but I think they must be working extra hard right now. We just have to wait for our letter now…

That is wonderful news crewguy. Have a great T-day.

sh1993 it could also depend on where you live and your admission counselor.

if more applicants are from your area then it will take longer

I live in Chattanooga, TN… I’m not sure if there are a lot of applicants from this area, but I hope that is the case. Do you know if when I turn in my application affects the decision? I turned in my application right before November 1. I’m not quite sure on the actual date…

When you turn it in makes a difference in the sense that getting it in Oct 1 is very different than Nov 1, but the closer you get to the deadline the less difference it makes, most likely. I will go back to something I said a lot last year… Deep breaths, Inhale…Exhale…Inhale…Exhale. Just try to keep yourself as busy with friends, school stuff, family, whatever as possible. There is nothing you can do now, so try and relax and have fun. It is out of your hands, you have done everything you can.

I don’t know how or by whom the decisions are made, but I have to wonder if maybe the different regional reps are involved, and if they happen to be travelling, that might slow down their “paperwork” time. SO it coul mean nothing that you haven’t heard anything yet, sh1993. Hang in there! Good luck, and congrats to everyone who has gotten in!

Has anyone from Maryland been accepted yet?

Are all of these decisions Early Action?

Probably all are EA/SCEA. If they have acted on any RD, it would only be because they have all the info and it is an easy decision I would think.

fallenchemist - Thanks for the excellent advice to contact admissions. They did NOT have my daughter’s October SAT scores in her file at the time they accepted her. It was just weird timing. SAT scores were available 10-28…she was accepted 11-4.

Admissions re-reviewed her file and yesterday she received a $15,000 scholarship. Thanks for your input on this board!

I love great outcomes! I’ll take my 10% by money order, please. LOL. Seriously, congratulations!! Tell her we expect big things from her at Tulane now.
