I got in!

tribegirl - same thing here, accepted on Gibson, October 26th… still no letter :(

That’s not much time, thecrew. You have to cut them a little slack! LOL.

HaHa… we’re just anxious/excited!

For what school is this?does this school have a strong engineering program by chance?

dhs, lol. Doesn’t the fact that this is in the Tulane thread area tell you something? Sorry, couldn’t resist.

Tulane is very strong is biomedical engineering and pretty strong in chemical engineering. Those are the only two they have at this time. They eliminated electrical, mechanical and civil after Hurricane Katrina due to cost considerations. They do have special 3+2 programs for those whereby you major in physics for 3 years at Tulane and then attend either Vanderbilt or Johns Hopkins for 2 years to get the engineering degree in one of those three areas.

Thanks FC for the encouragement, and to those who are asking about timeline: it was approximately one week between complete and acceptance…so very quick indeed!

its been 3 weeks+…

mrgrape - Have you called?

yeah… I got this response: We try to notify you as quickly as possible and are generally able to do so about 4-6 weeks after we receive a completed application from you including your high school and college transcripts and your course descriptions

Waiting patiently…but hearing how everyone gets accepted within a week im a little worried…

Oh I see. Transfers are not the same as new admissions. They are handled by a different person and are much more sensitive to space available. You cannot compare what you are seeing with all these freshman applicants.

It’s been 3 weeks to the day for me. I’m worried my mail might have been lost or something.

I e-mailed the school a few days ago and they said they’re backed up 2-3 weeks, however, how is it that some of you are receiving your acceptance letters merely a week after submitting your application?

Ahhh, I’m so worried.

Just heard back!
Hopefully will receive some financial aid, but an acceptance is awesome!

Stats:
3.76 UW/3.85 W
32 ACT

Congrats shermani. You should definitely get some merit money. Let us know.

tribegirl09, did you get your letter yet? Not yet here.

Got the letter today, no scholarship. A bit disappointed. School doesn’t rank, GPA or grade traditionally. Not sure what to do.

Daughter was admitted today! Notified via Gibson. She’s at school now, but will be SO excited when I tell her to go log in! Now she’ll have EXTRA incentive to finish that DHS application! She’s applying to some amazing schools, and as a parent, I certainly would be thrilled if she is able to attend a wonderful institution such as Tulane!

I got my acceptance letter in the mail today, but no scholarship info. To people who got their’s already, does scholarship come in a different letter?

No, it is in the same letter. If you feel you should have qualified for a scholarship, you can absolutely write to your admissions counselor and explain why you think so. Especially in a case like yours, thecrew, it might help to detail your situation and see if you can talk it over with them. People have gotten awards in the past where they were originally denied or they got higher ones than originally awarded. With so many applicants, it is always possible that more attention to yours might help. You can find your counselor and contact info at [Tulane Admission: Meet Your Counselor](http://admission.tulane.edu/counselors/index.php)

My daughter’s acceptance was posted on Gibson last weekend and we received the letter today. She received the $20k Founders Scholarship and is VERY likely to attend in the Fall! We’re very excited and can’t wait to visit. Thanks again to everyone for all of the helpful info!

GreatFeats. That is great to hear! $20,000 you don’t have to spend every year is never a bad thing. When are you thinking of going to visit?
