<p>I got accepted by UIUC two days ago as a Agricultural Finance major. Is this a particularly good department/major for Urbana? </p>

<p>I got accepted to ACES too! I’m guessing its not as strong as its engineering majors… or LAS… but I guess its not bad though not that strong compare to other school maybe?</p>

<p>You will not be allowed to request a transfer to another college within UIUC until during second semester for entry into sophomore year. You can also attempt to transfer later than that. To be considered for a transfer you will need to complete courses that those in your intended transfer major would usually take in first year and meet any minimum GPA requirements (meeting minimum gets you considered, you may need higher to get accepted for transfer;at UIUC’s site you will find requirements for transfer into any major, look for intercollege transfer). If you are attempting to transfer into beginning of sophomore year, your high school record and test score are considered and preference is given to those who would likely have been admitted to the other college as freshman. If you attempt to transfer later, high school record and test score is usually not a factor. Ease or difficulty of transfer depends on college and major and particularly depends on seats that become open when you are trying to transfer in comparison to those seeking transfer. The fewer the seats and the more making a request the higher your grades will need to be above minimums. The hardest college into which to transfer is Business which accepts less than 50% of those who apply for transfer.</p>
