I took my SATs once.

fifa...the other 3000 or some odd applicants ALSO had SATs and GPAs in their midrange or higher. You're lucky you got GSP. Some other people who have good SATs and GPAs might be rejected altogether...there isn't anything you can do about it. You're going to graduate from CAS with the degree YOU WANT, all in 4 years. I don't understand why getting GSP is so bad.

3000 ed applicants?

alexalex, exactly. im sure people with way higher stats than us got rejected, be happy!

anyone else besides fifawcs and firewalker get into GSP?

hogwarts...November scores reached in time for decision..you should've applied early.

yeah, seriously. at this point, I would personally be delighted to get into GSP myself. NYU is proving to be incredibly tough to get into, so being put into GSP, while perhaps not one's first choice, is certainly no slap in the face.

britishsam, yep. we graduate with the same degree, its the same thing. in a way, its better that we dont deal with MAP stuff, ive heard horror stories about it... and im a political science major, so all our liberal arts core work is gonna be quite helpful

yeah I applied early and I took the SAT in november.

alexalex, what are your stats? You prob have a better shot than I do of not being gsped cuz ur from texas.

Ha. No way...my stats are way low. 1180 SAT and 82/100 GPA. So we'll see!

But I have other stuff going for me, so I am hoping that balances things out.

But im sure u will also be GSPed. But in your honest opinion, Do you think I could fit in easily in terms of stats and ecs with teh regular CAS acceptances?

fifawcs, I know you're disappointed but really, you DO sound like a drama queen. Calling the admissions office and moaning isn't going to do any good. You were referred to GSP, you have a choice, either accept or not but come on, lots of people are going to be getting rejection letters in a few days who would have been happy getting into GSP. Not all admissions decisions are going to be 'fair'. Some people are going to be accepted with possibly lower stats than yours for reasons you're never going to know. That's part of the adcoms job. Maybe their recommendations were better than yours, maybe their school has a better reputation with that particular adcom. It has nothing to do with your sister, where you live, or how great your blue ribbon school is. People get referred to GSP or rejected all the time with stats that are probably comparable to those few who are accepted. NYU gets around 35,000 applications annually, with about 3,000-3,500 of them coming in the Early Decision round. Lots of those kids would do well at NYU but not all of them can be accepted. So, calm down, think about it rationally. Do you want to go to NYU or don't you? If you do, then say yes to GSP. If GSP is going to make you crazy and resentful forever, then I recommend that you get working on your other apps.

Of course you could. Almost all GSPers could...that is why they referred you to GSP...if they didn't want you...they would have rejected you. You must remember that. One of my best friends is in GSP now, and there really isn't a difference...you live and interact with the students from EVERY NYU school. And, eventually, you will be in the school of your choice.

Where do you live, fifa?

New Jersey

fifa & firewalker, can you get onto start.nyu.edu?

im not sure. i forgot the link

Seems as if ppl who were referred to GSP have gotten their decisions today and thus they have been mailed. I assume others who were referred will get their decisions within the next 2 days.

I assume school acceptances will be sent out early next week along with rejections.

I wonder if acceptances/rejections will arrive by early next week (not just be sent out)?
