Hi, I am an international student and currently a senior in Texas.

I got a mail the day before yesterday that I got admitted.

However, because I wasn't sure what to major when I go to

college, I chose my major as undecided. However, when

I saw the mail, I wil be belonging to the Undergraduate Studies Program.

Is this bad?? or it is just the regular major for the people who didn't decide

thier majors.?

In addition, what do you guys think about applying as an undecided major??

My Admission Mail:

We are pleased to offer you admission to Purdue University as an
undergraduate in the Undergraduate Studies Program, with a major in
Undecided, for the session beginning August 20, 2007. The final day to schedule
your classes will be August 16, 2007. Your academic record indicates
we can expect you will continue to succeed and we hope you will choose
to enroll at Purdue. Please remember to send us your final results from
any course work that you complete before your arrival.

so on...

It's fine. The first two years of college are just basic courses and then you are asked to decide on a major.

What do you mean? Early picking majors?

Often large state schools have rolling admissions--so no ED/EA application deadlines that affect acceptance dates. You usually hear from state schools or schools with rolling admissions within 1-2 months and the earlier you apply to a state school the quicker you'll hear back since they have fewer applicants to consider in the early months...a wise decision for safeties so that you know you are in somewhere!

The undergraduate studies thing probably just means that you were admitted into the undergraduate program (as in, not a graduate program).

Thnkas for the reply. But one last question.

Is it totally different program from the GSP (program which New York University suggests people who have a little bit below grades than the other
students and have to study at the other countries for at least one year.) ??

I can trasnfer my major whenever I want to right??

Your major depends on courses you have taken. You take courses for two majors: get double-major.
United States educational system! :)
