I got my first B....

So second semester report cards come by and I found out I got a B in one of my classes. I take the most rigorous classes at school, and I am planning on applying to top Universities. I got an A in the class first semester, but the class was much harder second semester, which is why I got a B. If this seems like a downward trend in grades to the Adcoms, how will this affect my chances at the top Universities?

Thanks in advance for any responses

BTW This is for my junior year. I will be a senior this fall. The class I got a B in was IB Spanish, and I have no interest in majoring in humainities in college.

what class is it.........?

No chance in ****.

Colleges will look at that and think, if he can't excel at every high school class, he obviously won't amount to anything and does not deserve a spot at our prestigious institution of higher learning.

You need to calm down. Not all kids that go to Harvard get straight A's. One B won't kill you. And lol @ downward trend as a result of one B.

lol @ everyone elses sarcasm. That just shows how ridiculous you sound.

Congratulations. As Ms. Hoover said to Lisa in The Simpsons "Everyone needs a blotch on their permanent record..."

You don't want to be seen as a straight A automaton do you?

Cool thanks ;) I knew I was overreacting, but I needed some input from others.

omg a B!!! the horrors! jeez calm down, one B will not ruin your chances to get into a top university even if u used to have an A in the class...CHILL

oh boo hoo. now you're salutatorian instead. congrats ;)

eww lol. -_-

NO OMG THEYRE NOT EVEN GONNA WAITLIST YOU, THEYLL GO STRAIGHT TO BLACKLISTING YOU! muahahahahah

chill the **** out haha

Lmao. Hilarious how some people overreact, one time I remember one of the kids in our school that complained about an A-...

lol, the only B i ever got in high school was my 10th grade health class. it didn't stop me from getting into college and i plan to major in something far removed from it.

..i think you will be fine.

I got a total of nine B's and B-'s and I got into Barnard, Claremont McKenna, Oberlin, and was waitlisted at Pomona and Wesleyan. Somehow, I doubt very much that one B is going to be the tipping point of your application.

congratulations u r now officially a human being instead of an android

Oh good. I just got my first B, too (second semester, junior year) and all of you r comments are making me feel a lot better.

Fail troll, fail thread.

Hey...I got my first C. I felt like dying. I had all A's.
Anyway, a B/C doesn't mean that you won't be accepted by top universities.
Take it easy and be optimistic. Your worrying doesn't change anything.
Good luck.

getting all A's used to be my dream too.

however...everyone falls down no matter how strong he is.

just pick yourself up and continue to move forward.^_^

hahaha i had straight A's all the way!

Until high school.
