I recently did very poorly on my Algebra 2 Trig final and my grade went down to a high C. There is still a chance my teacher will give me a chance to get my grade to a B.
I have never gotten a C before and have a 3.8 weighted GPA. I’m involved in a lot of leadership/ community service positions in and out of school. I’m also on the varsity swim team.
I have no idea how this will effect me getting into college. I plan on applying to state schools and moderately competitive schools with acceptance rates no lower than 50-60%, and my choice school is Michigan State. I need a little closure or more info on what I need to do to better my chances of getting into college!!
You will be fine! I am currently taking Honors Algebra II and I received a 96 for my semester grade, ironically scoring a 96 on my semester exam. Here’s some advice:
- Use the study guides and practice the problems over and over in order to understand the process on how to solve the problems that may be seen on the tests.
- Ask your teacher for help, they are paid to be there.
- Go back and practice concepts from Alg. I, if needed. Algebra is like a language, there are certain parts of the language you have to understand in order to dive into deeper concepts.
NOTE: I am by no means a gifted math student. I had an extremely tough time in Honors Alg. I, I just didn’t get the concepts, but practice makes perfect-ish.
Hope this helped!
