I got off the wait list!

I got an e-mail on Friday without sending anything in. Although, I applied to Pratt, and they weren't specific about what schools were admitting from the waitlist, just that they had a place for me (I got the same letter as the one on page 1 of this thread). I'm waiting for my packet/finaid to come, and maybe I'll think about visiting if they give me more money than Northwestern? Hm... and I was getting really stoked about NU, too.

Now I have to decide between Duke and Tufts, where I was pretty damn excited to attend. I'll have to visit Durham this weekend. Just wow.

Come to Duke!!! But if you're visiting, you'll easily pick Duke yourself. I don't have to do any convincing :)

Hey, conragts y'all who've gotten off the waitlist. As the rest of us contemplate our fate, I was wondering how many of you are internatonal students?

I'm not. new jersey.

unitedhell, go to duke over cornell. seriously. better weather, more prestigious, etc. unless finances are an issue or you want to do something insane that cornell specializes in.

i hope they take more off the waitlist...

crosses fingers

well they only gave the accepted from waitlist people one week to respond, so they definitely could still be contacting more people.

speaking of which, did anyone get theri admission package yet? according to the email mine was sent monday but still no sign...

Yeah, I got my admission package monday. I'm sure yours is on the way, too.

I originally committed to Duke, but I got off the waitlist at Williams and will be headed there next year (absolute hardest decision I've ever had to make!). Maybe that'll free up a spot for someone here--Duke is an absolutely amazing place and I really did love it, I just think that Williams is more for me.

aint that sweet!!!:)

I got off the waitlist too but I got a call really early in April 27. I didnt even have to enroll in another school. Is that normal?
Congrats to all others.

I got off the waitlist too. I got an email from the dean of admissions on Thursday night, but I'm almost certain that I won't be going. It really hurts to be turning down such a good school, but I really like Georgetown and already sent in my $900 deposit there. Best of luck to everyone else!

Agent Bauer, have you considered visiting Duke again before making a decision?

I shared your feelings about the school I originally committed to. I was set to go to Penn when I got off the waitlist at Duke. It seemed unnecessary at the time -- especially because one of my friends was going to Penn and I was ****ed about being waitlisted anyway -- but my parents told me to take a look. I'm glad I visited as I then chose Duke

Go To Duke!

I be all for Duke as well, but $900 really is a huge amount to lose. Damn you Georgetown.

Maybe you can ask Duke fin aid to cover the deposit amount? Never hurts to ask

If not, think about it like $225 per year difference...a reasonable investment longer term!

You'll actually be saving money long-term. Duke is cheaper than Georgetown.

Duke is also better than Georgetown :P
