I got rejected even with the TAG program

Hey guys

So I applied to UCSB as a pre econ and accounting major with TAG, but got rejected. I have completed the requirements. 2 English courses, 1 calculus course, 2 accounting courses, and 1 economics course. During the time I sent the application, I had a 3.4 GPA and 46 transferable UC units. I hope I didn't miss anything and that maybe it was their mistake, but if I didn't get into my TAG school, I don't have much hope for the other UC's.

How many units are you currently enrolled in? Are you sure they were transferable units? Did you take Trigonometry for example?

For my last semester I’m taking 11 units. All my units are transferable. I finished Calculus 1 before the UC application deadline and finished Calculus 2 the semester after.

So I will have 57 units completed by the end of spring. I also have 2 AP’s with a score of 4. So, I think in total I’ll have around 63 transferable units.

Did you find out for sure that the AP credits would be accepted by UCSB? Have you contacted UCSB to ask the reason for your rejection?

AP Microeconomics does not cover my Microeconomics course (which I thought it did). I really hope this is not the reason why I was rejected. Since this is a pre-economics/accounting major, am I able to complete it at UCSB? Other than that, I have been trying to call the admission’s office all morning but it seems that they’re closed.

The AP Microecon may be the problem also does UCSB TAG require that you attend your Spring semester as a Full time student? I believe UCD does have this requirement so you would need to be at 12 units instead of 11? Just trying to help you figure out the reason for the rejection. I hope you get through to admissions soon.

thanks I will let you know when they respond
