I got rejected from every UC, wait listed by Davis

<p>I applied to every UC except Merced and Riverside and have officially been rejected (wait listed by Davis) from all of them except Cal, but I'm sure I won't get in. I have a 4.0 cumulative GPA, 1760 SAT score (I know it's not that high), and I've done three pretty serious internships and lots of volunteering but they aren't major related . . .
I'm going to San Jose State for engineering which is my backup plan, unless Davis accepts me. Any advice for my future and what I can say in my 200-word statement or do to increase my chances of getting into Davis? I feel really disappointed in myself, but glad that the suspense is gone.</p>

<p>You probably should’ve applied to Merced as a safety…but in the 200-word statement, I would write about what you can give to the UCD community and why you belong there. Also, I would send an additional LOR or something just so they know how much you want to go there!</p>

<p>Don’t be too hard on yourself. Getting accepted to SJSU may be a blessing in disguise should you not get accepted to UCD. You will be in the Silicon Valley and should have good intern opportunities if you do well there your first couple of years. Get involved in any engineering club you can and be one of the “stars” in your class. Good luck!</p>

<p>Thanks. I will definitely work super hard in college and do as many engineering activities outside of school as I can.</p>

<p>UC Merced does not have engineering.</p>

<p>I got accepted at SB, Waitlisted at Davis, and rejected from SD, Irvine, Berk, and LA… I figured it wouldn’t be this horrible considering I had a 3.96 and a 33 ACT and a lot of ECs :/</p>

Results:
Davis: Waitlisted
UCSD: Rejected
UCLA: Rejected</p>

<p>Dude you have nearly the EXACT same stats as me and we both got rejected. This sucks so much.</p>
