I received a letter from Pomona today informing me of my incomplete application. This really ****ed me off cause as an international having to meet the Dec15 RD deadline I spent extra money to have it fed ex-ed over. I tracked the package over the net to ensure it arrived. The admissions office only contacted me once, regarding not receiving my application fee (hmm...) which I replied must have been a mistake cause I did the app online and paid using credit card; the $60 appeared on the bank statement as well. I emailed them to explain and they replied that they did indeed receive it. After that I was worried that I received no confirmation so I emailed them repeatedly about it, repeatedly because I was getting no response. They finally replied to tell me not to worry that they would email or snail mail me if anything was missing. I received no correspondence. Which is until today when i got this letter telling me my app is incomplete. The letter states that they sent notifications on Feb 15th and March 5th regarding the missing items but I received nothing! I'm guessing there are others like me. The admissions system needs a major overhaul or something. Well, at least I hope my application fee went towards that; maybe my 50 bucks helped some poor fed ex employee pay his rent too.

have you seen this?

Pomona really should clean up its act!! This is getting ridiculous!

Ohh, man.. Ridiculous!!!!! I'm so sorry, I know how you feel. I was soo bummed for like.. a whole week... I called again, and they said I could try writing a letter to try to appeal-- I also called my interviewer to ask her for some advice. She told me what kind of stuff to include in the letter... She said that since the applicant pool was so competitive this year, they probably won't care much about 1 or 2 'incomplete applications', so if you do write a letter, you really do have to state clearly why you want to go there, why they should accept you (because they already have chosen a really good class of 2009... reaally high stats and whatnot)... so yeah. Good luck!!

As for me, I am absolutely THRILLED to go to NYU Stern school of business. so the whole Pomona deal in the long-run wasn't that bad... I can't believe they charged you $60 though! I tried to find it on my bank statement-- couldn't. You should seriously at least try to get your money back, if anything!

Good luck :)
