I got this e-mail from UCLA. Is this a likely letter? :)

HEY EVERYONE! I got this email from UCLA just now. Just curious- is this what they call a likely letter or did everyone receive this? :)
Looking forward to your responses. Thanks in advance.
For now, I'll just be happy and think that this IS a likely letter! LOL! :)

"Dear Mr. XXXXXXXXX:

We have received your application to UCLA's Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science (HSSEAS). Your application is among those which I consider highly competitive. However, it is still too soon for admission decisions to be announced. To learn of the official decision, check the Undergraduate Admissions and Relations with Schools (UARS) website UCLA Undergraduate Admissions and Relations with Schools: Decision Notification in late March. You will receive an email from UARS when decisions are available online.

Having reviewed your application, I want to congratulate you on your fine work in high school. I look forward to seeing you in person on April 4.

Warm Regards,

Richard Wesel
Professor of Electrical Engineering
Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs"

I haven't got one... I want one ... U are mostly in as far as I know ... what are your stats ?

It looks like it's just for the School of Engineering, so it's exclusive in that respect. It would seem to be a likely letter, so enjoy it.

i received the same exact email. :)

Nice...is UCLA your first choice?

I got it too! I was so happy!

But seeing that they sent me the exact same email as everyone else makes me feel not as special :(

my friend who applied under engineering last year said most engineering majors got "likely letters" before actual admissions came out, so i'm pretty sure it is!

I didnt apply to UCLA, but it sounds like what NYU did. They sent out cards inviting people to reception events before the decisions were sent out. It's basically their way of saying you are in so that you can make travel arrangements to be there for their open house.

I got one too the other day...I think (or at least hope) it's a likely letter.

I talked to my dean at school and was told that not only is that a likely letter, it is an unofficial admit letter.

UCLA will not ask you to RSVP to an open house on April 4 after decisions are sent out and then reject you. UCLA is doing this so they can get an approximation of their yield for admitted students.

Well as I said, I got the likely letter like the rest of us, but I got the 'no access' as well.

So what does this mean???

nvm i got in. The page changed

It's an unofficial way of saying that you're in.

I guess it WAS a likely letter! :D
