I got two C's last semester (one in an AP class, and the other in a math class), and I was wondering if that might hurt my UC applications. However, my GPA last semester was a 3.6 weighted, and my UC GPA is a 3.8. Do you guys still think those two C's will hurt my chances of getting into UCI and UCD?

yea i think it will hurt. junior year muy importante

I really hope not, but your course load might save you. junior year i took 4 ap classes and got a C in calc bc, but i did fine on the AP test. i doubt colleges will look that much into it. also, if you improved from first to second semester by a somewhat significant amount, you should be fine

Well they don't help, but strengths in other areas (test scores, ecs, essays) will help you out...

Actually... I didn't improve from first to second semester. I got a 4.0 first semester, and a 3.6 the second semester. Is that really bad?? Am I a doomed UCI/UCD reject?

You aren't doomed - it just doesn't help you. I can't comment on the specific schools because I know nothing about them, but plenty of kids get c's and still go to college, obviously, so you'll be fine in the end. ;)
