I got waitlisted

read the title, enough said, dang

When did you get your letter? I thought they were going out today?

i called ....

They would tell you on the phone? I've never heard of that-usually they tell you to wait for your letter or e-mail or whatever. I'm really surprised they did it by phone. What did you say-something like you'd be out of the country for a month and couldn't get your mail?

my dad called b/c we are scheduled to visit there Monday and he didn't want to drive 7 hours away if there was a rejection letter sitting in our mailbox.

Sorry about the waitlist hansel, that's too bad. Don't give up yet though! Lantern did you just say that they were mailed today? I hadn't heard that yet. How long do you think a letter would take to get from OH to IL?

Ok, scratch the above post, I just answered my own question in another thread. Oh, well accept for the mailing time part, still wondering about that...

I bet you will get in Monday

s was waitlisted too :( At least Kenyon has a higher percentage of kids getting pulled off the waitlist than most schools-you never know??? Good luck on whatever you guys decide to do!!!

Statistics for last year's waitlist students:

945 placed on a waiting list
322 accepted a place on the waiting list
7 offered acceptances in the end.

Good Luck everyone!

Oh, how come Kenyon waitlisted so many people? They said in the mail that they intended to waitlist only 200.

Kenyon maitains a selective wait list of approximately 200 students

First of all, not everyone who gets waitlisted at Kenyon will accept a place on the waiting list. You should look at the number of people accepted a place on the waitlist.

Secondly, that's statistics for Fall 05 and I guess it changes every year. But then, when you compare Kenyon to other colleges, Kenyon definitely waitlist fewer people. Amherst for example, sent waitlist letters to more than 1000 students last year (none of which got admitted eventually)!! So all I can say again is good luck guys!!

That is what my sons waitlist letter said too. Only 200.Wow that is a huge difference from last year.If that is even the case. Who really knows. In any case it is really hard to get in off a waitlist no matter what the school. Good luck to all.
