He/she would be the top candidate to USNA from the Congressional District and would fill the vacancy for the nomination slate of up to 10 candidates if qualified. USNA is bound to offer an appointment from the district, again if qualified.

taffy,
Who told you that only one person applied for a nomination to USNA from the densely populated California district 14? That is hard to believe since urban areas in California have so many people and are among the most competitive overall for service academy nominations. I would also imagine that a fair number of former Navy officers, whose children may consider applying to USNA, live in your district. Furthermore, if the US senators in California receive approximately 1,000 applications each year for service academy nominations, making these nominations THE MOST COMPETITIVE IN THE NATION, why would the number be so low in congressional district 14 (and probably one of the most affluent areas too)?

The man in charge of nominations for CA14 told me this. Just because it is densely populated here doesnt mean this district has more people in it than wyoming's 1st district.

"That is hard to believe since urban areas in California have so many people and are among the most competitive overall for service academy nominations."

i dont see how you're connecting the bay area having a lot of people (and so a lot of congresspeople) to making people want to go navy.

nominations recieved, no mail even though my app has been complete for a month and a half (thats good, right?), and I should be dodmerb qualified in a few weeks.

Question: Do I need to be medically qualified to be offered:
1) a CGA appointment
2) CGA alternate status
3) CGA rejection
4) MMA appointment
5) MMA rejection
6) USMA appointment (yes im sure)
7) USMA prep school
8) USMA National Waiting List
9) USMA rejection

I don't think you will hear anything from WP until they can triple Q you and that means not until they see your medical from DODMERB (unless you are holding an LOA.) If you are found not triple-q'ed then you would get a rejection letter.

yeah, so im assuming i am at least Q for academic and athletics because if i wasnt it wouldnt matter about dodmerb cause i wouldnt be triple Q and i would have heard from them by now.

I am in the 15th California congressional distict right next to taffy. It might come as a shock buy there were only 10 candidates for all three acadmies in San Jose (silicon valley) where I live. I dont the specifics each academy. I have heard that some years it is lower.

Some people around here think that since the bay area is a lot more liberal, progessive, or what every you want to call us; there is less interest in military service. I dont really buy it but that seems to be the only reason that would fit since we have so many outstanding people in the bay area and so few applications for nominations.

I hate BCP. They're wrestling team has a bad rep for putting fingers where they fingers dont belong. Rumors. I went to P. Hill. As gangsta as a school with 60% asians can get. G-G-G G Unit.

taffy, did you get interview by Mr. Boeckls? He's awesome and probably the reason I got in to West Point.
