i need financial aid, and i guess i missed the deadline, so i have to apply RD. aint that a bitch. now i need to call Pomona and have them cancel all the teacher recs and counselor forms that have "Early Decision" written on them. AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH i cant believe i missed that.

oh well....i guess i have another 2 months to polish my essays. this sucks.

Let them know it is still your 1st choice school and explain what happened so they don't think you changed your mind about ED. Pomona states that ED does not help you with admissions anyways. I listened to the rep when he was at our highschool and talked with him at a college fair.

Do they still have Early Decision II? With a later deadline? Not the same, I know, but it's a thought.

they do have an ED2 option, but if im going to have to send in all of my applications anyway, i dont think there is any point in signing a binding contract.

Usually it is better for finaid to not be early decision although Pomona is quite good with aid anyways.

thanks for all your feedback arizonamom.

I don't think I met any of those deadlines last year for RD, but still got the financial aid info from Pomona when I got my acceptance letter. You can still apply early and then apply for the financial aid anytime I think (my friend did this after he decided to come RD and still got money) - the money they allocate to financial aid shouldn't run out either since most students apply RD. If you wanted to commit to Pomona EDI regardless of knowing what your financial aid package was going to be, I don't see why you can't just apply now and then find out how much aid you get at a later time than usual. It's not like they aren't going to give you the money you need just because you missed the early deadline for financial aid, since they have later dates for RD. I hope that made sense.

oh well, too late, life will go on. just need to hope my rank doesnt drop too much before the end of the semester.

Didn't I read that, last year, the admit rates Ed and RD at Pomona were the same? (or did I get that wrong - I thought they were both 18%).

Mini, you are right, I think CMC is the same, only benefit is finding out early

is there any way someone could read my essay, my common app one? can i e-mail it to someone? i need some feed back on it.
