I had a horrible fall semester. How badly will it affect my chances?

man you can't even say c0cky here!

It's about learning once you're at the school you want to go to. For potential transfers, until then, it's about learning and about grades. That sounds ridiculous, but that's the bottom line.

Don't you have something to go learn instead of posting here?

Look I don't question anyones quest to achieve and I agree going to a better school will offer a more rigorous and challenging and ultimately rewarding experience. I too am considering transfering and i too posted on this board. What raises my eyebrows is language such as " i am getting around a 3.2-3.3

We have high standards. To refer to this mentality as capitalist is absurd, that would be a hasty generalization in terms of determining the motive for one pursuing good grades.

Unfortuantely, many of the competitve schools many of us are dying to be accepted to rely too heavily on numbers. Personally, I could care less about numbers and I concur that learning is what ultimately matters, but if you want to be accepted to a school, you must adhere to their specifications which in my case and most others on this board, are very competitve standards. When your last chance to be accepted to the school of your dreams is a "transfer" opportunity, every grade, every minus and plus, can make a big difference. Competition is the name of the game when it comes to the real world, and you will never get anywhere unless you play the game.

i totally concur.

concur is a sexy word. anyways...any thought on my chances to usc please?

-if you've applyed may be you'll be lucky admissions is such a toss! If you didn't wrk your butt off and bring your GPA into a competitive range unfortunetly that may take 2 semesters more with more credits than a traditional load. You retook the SAT right? It's fair, but with your GPA it's not enough to make you competitive. If you've applyed good luck, who knows this worrying may be unnecessary.
