I had an interesting interview.

I'm not really sure what to make of my interview. Can anyone give me feedback?

The interview lasted an hour, which I believe is pretty typical. The interviewer also asked me some typical questions, and I believe I gave honest answers for each one. However, my interviewer looked more at the table or the floor than he did at me. Thus, there was very little eye contact. He also took long moments to think up of questions and I didn't want to interupt him while he was thinking. Consequently, there were long moments of silence. I felt really uncomfortable throughout the process... and I'm typically a very social person. Will this hurt my chances? The college does not require interviews. But if the applicant does have an interview, the college will factor in the interviewer's report in the admissions process.

It depends on the school and how much emphasis they put on it. Which school was it?

I think I win for weird interviews. One of my interviewers told me where to get a fake ID in Washington, D.C., and how not to get caught for being high in class. What?

From what experience I've had, it seems like the best interviews are when you ask questions to, and keep the flow going. I had an interview for Wabash College, and I wasn't stressed at all, in fact it was a great conversation between the admissions officer and me. He asked me stuff like what I enjoyed about the school, what I didn't like ECT. Then I'd have some questions for him. I didn't feel Wabash offered much as far as a social life is sort of what I told him, so then I followed up with, what do the students like to do for fun around here? Don't be afraid to ask questions throughout the process yourself. Enjoy it and have some fun. Don't think of an interview as a test.

my interview was like an hour and 45 minutes and we talked about everything. stuff like creationism vs. evolution, interpretations of literature, we even agreed to send each other essays and such. i guess i like the interviews that allow you to show who you are rather than say who you think you are.

but to your question, dont worry about the interview too much...if it goes well, great...but if it goes bad as long as you didnt say anything bigot or unnecessarily out there, i think u'll be fine.
