“Will freshman applicants who graduate from high school in spring 2005 (or earlier) and who apply for admission for the fall 2006 term be required to submit test scores from the new tests?
In accordance with UC admissions guidelines, freshman applicants must complete the subject and testing requirements no later than the date of high school graduation. Fall term 2006 freshman applicants who graduate from high school in spring 2005 or earlier are required to meet the eligibility requirements in place at the time of high school graduation.”

I already graduated in June and I was going to apply to Berkeley and UCLA, but now it seems like I won’t be able to because I took the SAT’s after I graduated. I only took the SAT 1 while in high school and I only got 1370, but I took the new test after I graduated and did really well. I also did well in the subject tests.

So do I have no chance of admission now? Anyone have any advice? I don’t have much time left to apply, so I would really appreciate your hekp as soon as possible.

My advice is to call the admissions offices at the schools you're interested in applying to. Some might allow you to use the post high school scores, and some may ot, but you should call each office to find out.

Hi DRab, could you help me out? I just got an automated e-mail reply from the admissions office which was useless because it thought that I'm an international applicant, and it didn't really address my problem. But that's to be expected from an automated response.

I want to call now, and I found this in the contact Berkeley section of the website:
"For general phone inquiries, call (510) 642-6000. For TTY/TDD access, call (510) 642-9900."

So do you think that admissions queries would count as general phone inquiries? If not, do you know what number I should call?

Well, I would start there. They will direct you to the right person if they are not it. You might have to search www.berkeley.edu for the admissions office phone number if they cannot direct you there.

Thanks! I searched the site and I found it. I hadn't even thought of doing that. I'll call them as soon as it's a reasonable time in the US. I hope I get an answer this time.

I called and the representative said that I should apply! I really have to start filling out the app as the deadline is in less than 2 weeks. Thanks again DRab, I really owe you one.
