This post is just a tribute to my hatred for my Alg. 2 class. I just started the class and because I need AP Calc by my senior year, Im forced to take Alg. 2 honors online throught the summer. I'm still in chapter one and you know what? I HATE IT. I HATE MATH!!!! I'm a straight As student but I ALWAYS scrape by in math with like a 92 or 93%. I HATE IT!!!!

WHY??? WHY ARE THERE PEOPLE THAT ARE MATHEMATICIANS OUT THERE?!?!?! WHY?!?!? WHY IS THERE MATH?!?!?!?? AGGGGHHH!!!

I'm so stressed. I just started the class and I'm doing INEQUALITIES (which are supposed to be a piece of cake) and I don't understand *****.

I HATE MATH!!!!!!!!!!!!! And what is it for anyway? Seriously? Who's gonna need inqualities in everyday life? God, people need to go make money instead of thinking up useless formulas!!!

Im so sad!!!!!! I hate it when I don't understand something. :(

Haha I know how you feel. And I'm the same way. I continually have to have my math teachers explain to me how we are going to apply what we are doing to our everyday lives. (assuming we're not going to become mathamaticians.) But I don't know if I would ever be able to do a math class online. I usually have to have someone come and explain the concept to me before I can fully grasp it.

Maybe it's the way you were taught - not the subject per se

Yah I think thats it. Cause with a teacher I can at least ask. Online I can't ask anyone. :( But I need AP Calc for UPenn so I have to handle this. :(:(:(:(:(

I actually think it is the way I was taught. Even though I get A's in the subject its the one I have to work alot harder at. My 8th grade year our teacher literally taught us nothing =[ She was such a lazy teacher...

wow, if this is how you react to alg2...i can't wait for the calculus thread.

even though I felt indifferent about alg2 but loved calculus.

I actually found some of the Algebra II material more difficult than calculus.

My mother had to tutor me through some of that material - she never had to help me in calculus.

That said - I was a late bloomer - and I think the difference may be that I was just more intelligent when I learned calculus

and it'll only get worse

precal is basically useless for calculus. all you need to know for calc AB from precal are trig identities and converting logs/lns.

oh, and how to graph sin and cos

Wait until you get into the real world and discover that all of that math you learned is COMPLETELY WORTHLESS. Bwahahaha. Also add history, political science, english, science, and just about every other subjects (beyond fundamental 6th grade material) to the list of subjects that are worthless to most working people (obviously, their worth varies depending on your career path).

Sadly, the most important class I took in high school was probably typing (which, was a joke class at the time).

Nothing is worthless unless you allow it to be - those include classes. You can always start on it and then build from there.
