well who cares? Come on don't u have better things to think about like UR APPLICATION maybe? Who cares if someone gets rejected. Sorry to sound really egoistic but at this stage u only care about UR GETTING IN.

yea but sometimes you just have to rant about arrogant bastards..not here though, I do it on LJ >_>

I can tell you guys are Democrats.

I call those people foolish; perhaps naive in the sense that they don't quite know the competition pool of ivy leagues.

haha democrats...but yeah i think the OP hates the girl because she prolly thinks her race is what will get her in which would **** me off also

I agree with posters who are skeptical that her profile as represented here is a guarantee that she will get to the second stage in Admissions; she may not. However, as to the arrogant part, I'll PM you.

i think you guys are missing something, the OP is talking about a black native american, I really wish it weren't so, but I'm pretty sure she will get into some of those places, simply because of that.

And the valedictorian of my class last year applied to
Yale
Harvard
Princeton
Brown
Columbia
Stanford
(i believe that was his order of preference, maybe Harvard and Princeton were switched)
and was accepted at all except Stanford where he was waitlisted. And while he didnt go around saying he was confident, it was obvious that he knew he was going to be fine.

" think you guys are missing something, the OP is talking about a black native american, I really wish it weren't so, but I'm pretty sure she will get into some of those places, simply because of that.

"

Sorry, I don't think so. I've seen URMs with far stronger stats rejected.

Also, if the student is accepted, I don't think it will be because she's black and Native American, but because she has some strengths going for her that the college wants.

I also don't trust the OP's description of the other student. The OP appears to be bitter, envious and racist, and I simply don't trust the OP's perception of the other student.

The OP strikes me as someone who when they don't get into college will blame URMS instead of realizing that their own personality probably hurt their chances. Anyone who'd take the time to post such a rant about another student whom they call a "friend" is not likely to be the type of individual who is the darling of GCs and teachers.

Instead of getting his own application in order, it seems that the OP is lining up scapegoats. There's no excuse for that IMO. Any college that puts a great deal of emphasis on character (as do most first tier colleges) would be very wary of accepting this kind of student.

Bitter people who waste their time complaining about other people are not likely to find doors opening wide for them at top colleges in the country.

In light of the OP's comments about the black/Native American student, it's interesting to read this August exhange involving the OP:

Another poster in response to OP's question about the OP's chances: "No offense but even though you started a business, your test scores are not high enough for you to have to be worried about tufts syndrome."

The OPs's response: "No offense taken. I know they're low but I've been improving on the CB tests. I'm up to 690s by now so hopefully by October I'll break 700. Plus I'm a URM, if that helps any."

Check out the OP's second IM name, which is listed in his profile, and ask yourself how much you'd trust his judgment about females of any race.

well if we are going to deconstruct him, Op is the same person who wonders if his parents purchase a million $ house will it have any bearing on his FA but at the same time is looking for how to get fee waivers because it can get costly applying to 8 schools.

I think that if he spent half his time any energy on his own app, he just might get into wharton ED.

But don't forget that they are buying the million dollar home in a zipcode that supports low income status and thus a boost for Pell Grant recipient and SEOG also. Get the fee waiver and low income grants as a boost to acceptance.....what a strategy.

normally, she wouldn't have a shot with those stats. but being black will definitely put her in the ballpark.

no other Omarosa types come forward w/ greater stats and other factors. She is going against her own.......there is no need to take a lesser qualified.

To the original poster:

Ill be honest dude. I think harvard is my safety school...psssh, aww shucks, I cured cancer homey, I rocked that 1600 like it was the ice around my neck. I got the 96 gpa like we were doing 69 backwards. I sleep in Harvard boxers. I got the H tatooed on my chest like Superman. I can hit that baseball like I was hittin the clubs so I am also getting recuited like Colin Ferell.

Anyways, I am so tired and I need to go to sleep. But just to add once again, I WILL GET INTO Harvard and Harvard is my safety...so, speaking in terms of those insecure teenage high school girls around the US who think that they are mad cool by speaking gangster and slang language... Go ahead haterz. Haters keep hatin.

There's two kinds of peope: arrogant ones who think they'll get into Harvard, and really smart people who you admire, are close friends with, learn stuff from, and they never brag about those grades. Those people are cooler and deserve to get into harvard.

"I rocked that 1600 like it was the ice around my neck"

i dont get it

spydertennis, to elucidate on I rocked that 1600 like it was the ice around my neck...Let me explain some gangster terminolgy.

1.) <ice>...Ice as you know of are those cubes in your freezer that you use to put your glass of warm Coke, But in the gangsta way, ice can also be referred to shiny necklaces that must weigh at the very minimum of 5 pounds according to Gigigug-unit.</ice>

2.) <rock>... Now this is not the rock that you think of as in rocking good ol' grandpa's chair or is it the rock as in Linkin Park duuuude. It is the verb form to mean wear or do well at. You can rock a nice sweater, or you can even rock nice jewelery around your neck. You can rock a test! Thus, I am making the comparision that I rocked the test to how I rock ice around my neck.</rock>

I really, really hope that I have clarified myself.

hmm yeah, i got the rock part, but the ice around your neck...
im just not up on the lastest gangstizzle slangizzle

You liar. I did.

Actually, I'm kind of surprised the OP's friend (or acquaintance, rather) isn't applying to Dartmouth- they have a relatively large Native American recruitment. Anyway, I agree with NSM- an URM friend of mine (who's going to Boston U, oddly enough) with higher scores got rejected from Yale, Harvard, and Penn, although he did get into Johns Hopkins.

There's nothing wrong with confidence, though. To be honest, I was 99% sure I was going to get into all of my schools except Yale- and I did.

This thread reminds me of Legally Blonde, lol.
Blonde: Hello, I'm going to Harvard.
Counselor: Wha???? Harvard's a top three school!!! What are your backups?
Blonde: I don't need any backups-I'm going to Harvard.

I thought Bananas was a girl too...
