I am around 620-650. If I get my score to a 730-750, I will have a 2300+. I feel that some of the questions have two choices that are very similar. I have a hard time differentiating between these answers. Also I misinterpret the text because I look into it too deeply. Anu suggestions....

accept failure???
or…
read more, thats my problem, i sparknotes everything for school, you need to actually read books

take every answer literally, don’t interpret

As Salzahrah alluded to, there will often be passages on topics that you have learned something about from other sources. Even if you are an expert on the topic, answer the question solely on the basis of the information given in the passage, even if you believe it to be wrong. They are not testing you on your knowledge of the topic of the passage, they are are trying to determine if you can read a passage and comprehend what is written well enough to detect subtle differences between four possible answers and select the one that most closely reflects what the passage said.

This a skill that is partly innate and partly acquired over a lifetime of reading fairly sophisticated materials. This is why CR is so difficult to raise your score on compared to math and writing. Solving basic math problems and writing a coherent essay are things that can be learned with a few months of study and practice. CR skills take years of experience to master. Going from the mid 600s, which by the way is not a bad score at all, to the mid 700s in CR is a daunting challenge.

The correct answers in CR are those that are factually certifiably correct in the text given. There is information in the text that will allow you to find the correct answer to every question. Don’t read into the text that much, unless a question asks it, i.e. this passage as a whole…

Memorize vocab, but spend more time reading. As much as you can, the sooner you start the better. You pick up vocab words reading anyways. CR is going to take a long time to pull up, so hopefully you are not applying in the fall. If you are, don;t panic, just practice, and you could probably get to ~680 - 700. Do what the poster above me states also. Good advice.
