I refuse to buy an ipod.

I also refuse to join Facebook. Go figure.

She had to reinstall Itunes the other day because there was a new version out or something. The reinstalling process ended up deleting all her songs.

!! Everytime I go on itunes, the pop up msg thing always tells me to download their newer version.. I haven't installed it yet because i'm lazy.. so should I never download their new version? Because if my songs get deleted, they'll be gone forever (i deleted them off my computer harddrive).

And what is this disk mode people keep going on about? Does that happen to ipod nano's? I've owned mine for a little over half a year - after my good old samsung gave up on me (after 2.5 years)..

I didn't want to buy an iPod, someone gave it to me. How long does an iPod nano last?

I don't know exactly what disk mode is, but basically you set it to disk mode when your computer won't recognize the ipod and you need to reset it (thereby losing all your settings and music).... I've had to do it so many times.
I didn't want an ipod... I actually had a discussion with my sister saying I wouldn't ever want one, which was a week before my birthday and she knew I was getting one... But now I can't live without it!
Actually part of it's because my car has no cd player, and we have no good radio stations so I use one of the FM transmitters with the ipod everytime I drive anywhere (which is pretty frequently).

I updated mine once and all my songs weren't lost (phew!!!!). I haven't updated to the newest one, mainly because I am lazy.

Most of my songs I have burnt to a cd to prevent loosing them... But then again, I don't know where my cds are.

You can easily get your music from your iPod to your computer...all you have to do is change your settings to show hidden files. No matter what happens to your computer or iTunes program, you won't lose your music unless your iPod croaks on you at the same time.

Anyway, my iPod has worked beautifully for nearly a year. I got an older version 20GB (the one right before color, video, and all that other unnecessary crap). I love iTunes as well, and really don't see what's so difficult or crappy about it. Maybe I'm just more easy-going than some of you guys?

The Nano uses a different technology so hopefully they will last longer. For everyone that stuck their dead i-pod in a drawer - at least take it to an Apple store and let them look at it. We have had ours fixed in 5 minutes for no cost and friends have as well when they thought the hard drive was shot. It's worth a try anyway.

Why don't you guys just get one of these. You'll probably prefer it to the ipod.

I recently started to fix ipods. One can make a profit off of it. The question for you guys is: how do you open one?
