I hate my school

I came into my current school with a good attitude though it was not my first choice or even my fifth. The first couple weeks were okay but as the weeks went on things got increasingly worse. I can not stand anyone at my school everyone behaves as if they are in high school. There are only 500 people that live on campus and they are all judgmental, closed minded people. No one takes school seriously, I am all for having some fun but most people in my school rarely do their homework. I can not stand to be at this school for another year I will literally die. Though I do not think that I will be able to get into any other school since my high school grades sucked. I already got rejected from one school I applied too. But my college GPA is pretty good. What are some good schools that have a pretty good transfer rate? Does anyone have any advice or suggestions of to what I should do. Becasue seriously I can not go to my current college again next year.

Giving us more specific information will lead to much better replies.

What sort of program are you in?
Would you prefer a bigger student body?
Public or private?
Which part of the country?

etc

I am a English major, I want a bigger student body, a school that is on the East Coast preferred, I do not care if the school is public or private.

you should be asking what schools are still accepting applications. not many.

Yea most transfer deadlines are March 1 or April 1. You might have to consider transferring for Spring '10. You need to give us some details. A bigger student body doesn’t really narrow it down if you’re comparing it to 500 students :P.

 • What year are you currently?
 • College GPA?
 • HS GPA
 • SAT/ACT scores
 • Urban/Suburban?

dreams16, I currently go to a small Liberal Arts college with ~600 people per grade, and I am in the same situation as you. The thing is I went to a small high school, so I don’t mind the small student body size too much. It’s the lack of academic rigor and the immaturity of the people that get to me. Anyway, I’m applying to UChicago because it has strong academics but it’s small enough for my liking. As other people have said, most deadlines have passed, but if you want to be at a big school, try applying to NYU! (4/1 Deadline)

Best of luck to you!

then leave it

Other than gaining admission at one of your home-state public universities, or at your home-town community college, it is pretty late in the year to transfer for the fall. What you might consider is taking a leave of absence from your current college/university, and working for a year while you re-consider your goals in life. This would grant you a bit more perspective on what you want out of your college education, and where it would be best for you to pursue it.

If you still want ideas for the fall, here is a list of late and rolling admissions colleges and universities. Most of them will also offer late and rolling admissions for transfer students as well.
