I hate this city.

I'm bored so I decided to tell you a little story (don't worry, it's really short)

I was coming back from the beach (which is 900 kilometers away from where I live.) and we had to pass through the heart of a certain city to get back to the city where I live. On the way TO the beach, it took us 5 minutes to pass through becasue it was 5 AM, but it took us 1 hour while coming back because we just happened to be there during rush hour. Anyway, we were in traffic for an hour and were moving like snails along the extremley road. Half way through that hour, I realized that I really needed to urinate. (I did so, but only after 3 hours :( )

okay, I'm done. Um...can you guess what city I'm taking about?
Here are a few hints:

It has three large prism-shaped structures once used as tombs for the dead kings.

It is the largest city in Africa and the Middle East as well the the most densely populated (18 million people)

Cairo ?? is it ??

America??? Am I right or what? I must be right. I'm always right.

how much is a kilometer again? its more than a mile right?

Those hints were amazingly detailed.

Hmm :) 1 mile = 1.6 kilometers.

Okay, seroiusly any city has traffic during rush hour... they aren't just all coming because you are there... I mean really!

Doesn't it always seems that people have to pee at the least convient times!

I forgot exactly how much a kilometer is too. hahaha!

Sounds like Cairo to me. So, were you in Sharm El Sheikh? Actually, that's not likely because Sharm El Sheikh is roughly 600 KM from Cairo.

Cairo to Gaz. Wadi Gimal?
Sharm el-Sheikh-Cairo: 496 km
Hurghada-Cairo: 550 km
Bur Safaga-Cairo: 603 km
al-Qusair-Cairo: 688 km
Marsa Mubarak-Cairo: 769 km
Marsa l-'Alam-Cairo: 820 km

Dundee, OR? Or as it's commonly called HELL on the highway. It has everything you said except the burial mounds and africa.

You must pass through Dundee on the way to a certain college campus a few miles beyond. You can be making great time, till Dundee, where time stands still.

For the record, Cairo is not the largest city in Africa. It is the largest city in the Middle East, though.

I believe Lagos holds the record of largest city in Africa.

No, Cairo is the largest City in Africa...especially when you factor in the metro area.

Different methodology.

http://geography.about.com/od/urbaneconomicgeography/a/agglomerations.htm

It is true that different sources will have different results. Generally speaking though, Cairo is considered the biggest city in Africa, with Lagos as a close second. My uncle has lived in both cities and he told me that Lagos and Cairo were practically identical in size at night, but during the day, Cairo is much larger. I guess the Cairo metro area is much larger.

Lagos is the faster growing city though...

Yes, it's cairo. and I intentionally made the hints easy. and, no, I was in Hurghada..not Sharm Al Shaikh. btw, I live in Alexandria so sharm al sheikh is 1000 kilometers away from here..not 600.

Stuck,
I live in Alexandria..and it's not 1000 kilometers away from here. It's 980 only.

wow, big diff

lol...
