I hate that Boston College doesn’t have early decision, I mean they have early action and those are for the really amazing applicants, and I’m not one of them. Half of those kids probably applying EA are just using BC as a safety for the Ivies. I will probably have to apply in the RD pool and BC will have no idea how much i really want to go there. I find this EXTREMLY irritating.

hate the game, kid, hate the game.

EA is NOT just for top applicants. Few EA applicants get flat out rejected. Most get deffered and put with the RDs. If you really want to come to BC, you need to make that clear in the essay (and more importanly WHY).

Not according the Admin rep I spoke with, "If you know you are a strong applicant than EA". He said that if you really want to go to BC applying EA isn't going to get you there. I have numerous reasons for going to BC, but even those who don't really want to go there are going to make us some bs lie on WHY they want to go there some much. That's just reality I guess.

Hey I'm not going to argue with the admissions guy, if that's what he said. Still, it seems pretty logical to me that if BC is your top choice, you shouldn't jeopordize a chance to go there by applying ED somewhere else. What's wrong with just applying RD at BC and some safeties?

I agree, It would be more logical. I guess I don't have a problem with applying RD at BC and some safeties, it's just more of a question of me being difficult.
