I hate to do this but, a chance me thread..sorry guys, but I'm freaking out.

SAT:
Math - 560
CR - 600
Writing - 610
ACT Composite - 27
GPA - I really have no idea. Probably around an A-
Rank - who knows? Top 25% at least.

APs/College Courses - US History, French 4 and 5, Psychology, English

Essay - My english teacher said it was the best admissions essay he's ever read..so good I guess.

Teacher Recs. - Two really good ones, I didn't read them, but they loved me. my guidance counselor rec was probably really good, she knows me well since I go in the guidance office all the time for college advice. hahaa.

I go to a small school in Highland, New York.

Female, Caucasian.

ECs - Yearbook Editor-In-Chief, ambassador for my school's Friends of Rachel club, Secretary/treasurer for the art club. Also in the French Club, SADD, and SDS (students for a democratic society).
I volunteer weekly to teach Kindergarten religion at my church and have for about five years (i just started teaching this year, I was an aid before that)

My first average this year - 94

again, I'm really sorry to post this, but I'm so nervous about everything =/
I know my grades are low, but maybe my essay and EC's will make up for it?

You'll probably get in. I just got accepted with an ~85 avg. and 2190 SAT (660 M 730 V 800 W). Your ECs are pretty good for Fordham. Mine were pretty similar to yours. I'm not even sure I submitted an essay. I think it helps that you went to a small school upstate. Just wondering, is this really where you want to go? If it is why and what are you planning on studying?

This is my top school.
I want to do a double major I think, in psychology and Education.
But with the baby boomers getting older I'm kind of thinking nursing? I'm not sure yet.

Congrats on getting in! Is this where you want to go?
did you apply Rose Hill or LC?

It's not really my top school but it's pretty close. I'm going to wait for Sophie Davis and some flagship state schools before I make my decision. I'm thinking about double majoring too, in pre-med and international relations at Rose Hill. Nursing is a really good field to study. I hope everything works out for you!

I think you're really on the bubble based on last year's Class Profile for the SAT for an EA. Your ACT is in the mid 50% so that, on the other hand, would be a positive for you. Did you submit both? Seems your GPA is fine, particularly if Fordham is familiar with your high school.

ECs are great, they show some nice diversity, commitment, and leadership, well done.

Let's hope the adcom agrees with your English teacher about that essay!

Good luck!

Fordham does not have a nursing program. Concentrating on the baby boomers. though, is a smart move. You may think of applying for a nursing home administrator's license upon finishing your 4-year degree. For the most part a 4-year degree is the minimum qualification for most state licensing, along with passing a national board test, with a little prep work should be no problem. Look to states with the easiest licensing requirements (ie. New Mexico). Once licensed, most states have reciprocity agreements with other states that would allow for licensure in those states as well. Your SAT scores are borderline, but your EC should put you over the edge. Good luck.
