I have 1490 characters, but CommonApp says it's over 1500!

<p>For a supplement, the limit is 1500 characters.</p>

<p>My response is 1490 characters--as the CommonApp itself shows (in the "Characters Available" spot under the response box). However, every time I try to save my supplement, CommonApp informs me that my response is longer than permitted. </p>

<p>Does anyone know what is going on?</p>

<p>Are you sure that your response is 1490 characters including spaces?</p>

<p>Word actually says it’s 1485 characters–it’s the breaks between paragraphs that add 5 more characters, since CommonApp counts differently than Word. But yes, I’m absolutely sure it’s less than 1500 characters.</p>
