But the real question, after my babbling on about everything i have ever done in High School, is…
Will any decent colleges accept me?
I applied to UC Berkeley,UCLA, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, and UC San Diego, SFSU, USC, U Chicago, Boston U, Georgetown, Columbia, Stanford, MIT, Cambridge University in the UK, and my dream school- NYU CAS
I haven’t gotten any acceptances or rejections from any school yet but before i do i wanted to know if those 3 D’s will keep me from going to any of the universities i applied to.

Most of those schools are out of reach for you. UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara and USC are possible. You are far above average for SFSU

UC Davis has released all their decisions on March 11, so I would check your web portal. What is your UC GPA? If you did not repeat your D’s, I think other than SFSU, you will have a hard time getting into the schools.

I talked to my counselor and she said that since I did significantly better my second semester after receiving the D’s that Universities would look at my second semester rather than my first. She also said that since my SAT and ACT are so high and the fact that I have so many EC’s, that the D’s wouldn’t be as bad on my transcript.

Is that accurate?

Yes. Almost all of these colleges are out of your reach, sadly. I think you could get into some of the UCs and BU, but for the rest it just won’t cut it.
Weighted GPA is quite low, and standardized test scores are not spectacular. A solid list of ECs, but nothing that stands out. Good luck for colleges! I wish you the best.

Schools count the final grades for each class not the semester grades.

@rpr3900 While your scores (ACT) is certianly not bad it isn’t anywhere phenomenal (2400,36). Your test scores will not be able to offset your D’s. One D might be explainable but 3 D’s pretty much negates most of the chances for all the school you listed except SFSU

If your HS is on a semester system, do you get semester grades? and are these semester grades on your transcript? Your UC GPA is calculated based on the grades posted on your transcript. If you had 2 D’s from 10-11th, these would be included in the GPA calculation. Did you get an acceptance from UCD since all decision results are now posted? Did you calculate your UC/CSU GPA? https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

Yes I got an acceptance from UCD, and my UC gpa is a 3.67. My high school has a semester system and I know that each semester grade is on the transcripts that are sent to colleges

Cambridge send offers out two months ago, so OP should have his Cambridge decision already. This application list suggests his/her guidance counselor didn’t provide a needed reality check.

Congrats on your UCD acceptance and Giod luck with the rest.

schools want to see an upward trend so w/ your senior grades i wouldn’t worry about three D’s. (UChicago, Stanford, and MIT are way out of reach though)

^I think you can get into some of the UCs.
