Mikey-ya i think haha what does that exactly mean? Like science math english stuff orr?

IGETC courses are the agreed classes between UC/CSU with your CCC that will complete the requirement for your general education requirement basically a majority of your 60 minimum transferable units. It’s about 38 units? Or so that are English,Critical thinking, Biological, history, and so on you should go to your CC office and pick up a form or print one online from the CC website. Also go on Assist.org to get some major classes that are transferable to the UC you want to apply to. To make your application more competitive and cheaper at $48 a unit.

Ohh ya most are done science english and math just need some lower division courses and business calc.

IF you want to have any shot at graduating on time, i highly suggest you go and finish all of your lower division major requirements BEFORE transferring . But on the brightside, once you hit 60 units , you can still get some requirements knocked out during the summer .

Dscott, are you attending sbcc?

Thisislife- what was your major at riverside?

Daydreamer-ha i wish! I’mat Mendocino college living in a town of 5000 people -.- hence why I’m trying to transfer asap lol

I’m going to transfer to sbcc next fall, I’m assuming by your response “I wish”, it’s a great school. (:

Poli Sci, which is a joke . I had one teacher who lacked a complete grasp on the English language( FOR POLI SCI ), who would write things on his power points , like “Any FeedBacks” .

Overall, i’m not sure what the point of Poli Sci is at a theoretical level, like for one paper I argued that trying to get developing nations( like China) to act on global warming was pointless since we can’t even get a consensus in America . Since this goes against what most academia think will happen, basically the right thing to do is to reduce CO2 emissions and everyone world wide will eventually see this . I ended up getting a 60% on this paper, which dipped my grade into a C- . Way to make a quarter of work pointless since I have a different view point .

Not to say this was some type of fantastic paper, but I’m sure I would of gotten at least a mid C in the class had I written something about how undeniable global warming is, and how China’s going to adopt the same CO2 emission standards as the Kyoto protocol demands .

Anyway, this was a failure of research on my part, in picking UCR .

UCSB seems like a good school , good luck and push to finish all the pre-reqs you can

sounds like he could of been a little more open minded lol but hey im sure it was somewhat of a good party school righht?

Ya its the only school i really want to go to, location wise and the program that they offer involving economics and accouting.

Another question, would you know if they consider my winter intersession grades? the semester ends like feb 13th i believe and itd be microecon and a anthro class. Being that the econ class is an important pre-req, i thought they would like to consider that for admittance?

Hmm, they might, since in Januaryish( i forget the exact month) you do an update to your application to talk about what your doing school wise .

Even if they don’t consider it , if you have to appeal having an extra pre-req done will help alot .

Good luck,
I feel all the UC’s are good , aside from UCSC( not that its bad, but its a easy school to get into) , UCR, and UC Merced

alrighty, you want to read one of my essay prompts and tell me what you think?

My opinions not worth much . Some UC’s don’t even read the personal statement …

I’d just focus on getting awesome grades …

No, they will only consider whatever grades are out by early January (or whenever you update the grades). Although they may give you certain requirements for spring semester. ie. Get a B in Econ to get acceptance.

i few months ago i would have been on board with everyone saying the 60 units minimum is firm but i met a friend at UCSD that got into structural engineering with only 59 units. he was originally denied but he appealed the decision and got in.

Andrew- hmm so when do you think the deadline is to update?

Diamond-thatd be nice but it would still be up in the air with my acceptance so im just going to expect if i dont have 60 ill be denied

I believe it’s Jan. 31
