I gave my first attempt in June this year and got 1880 (CR: 640; Maths: 690; Writing: 550). In November, I gave my second attempt and got 2110 (CR: 640; Maths: 720; Writing: 750).
Also,
SAT II, Maths 2 - 750
SAT II, Chem - 740
I have good extra curricular activities. Not a lot but sufficient.
So, do I still have a shot at UC Berkeley and LA?
And what are other universities I can apply to?
i am from india. we dont have gpa’s, we have percentage. and the link isn’t opening
i can afford it, that wont be a problem.
i want to know whether my score is fine…
Then match your stats against the listed score distributions
(shown in section C9 of each school’s Common Data Set)
Your SAT-M and SAT-CR do fall within UCLA’s median bands (25th - 75th percentiles) for this year’s incoming freshmen. That’s a good sign.
However, the averages for next year’s admitted Indian applicants may be higher or lower than the overall 2015 averages. So you may want to apply to some colleges where your stats fall above the medians. If you like big public universities such as Berkeley and UCLA, there are many less selective alternatives in California or other western states. The University of Washington, the University of Oregon, and the University of Colorado are 3 examples. Any other schools in the University of California system also would be less selective than Berkeley or UCLA.
-Barnard College
-Baylor University
-Boston College
-Boston University
-Brandeis University
-Case Western University
-Chapman University
-Claremont Mckenna University
-Dartmouth College
-Georgetown University
-Hamilton College
-Lehigh University
-Muhlenburg College
-NYU
-Oberlin College
-Providence College (I applied here too)
-Rice University
-Santa Clara University
-Tufts University
-University of Miami
-Vassar College
-Wellesley College
Interesting list. All great schools. But off the top of my head, Rice and Dartmouth seem like serious reaches. Maybe also Hamilton, Georgetown and Vassar.
