i have a 4.0 -now-

anybody else just want to get a B in some class, ANY class, just so the pressure to keep the 4.0 is OFF???!!!

i know this sounds stupid, but i can't wait to get a B or something, so i don't keep having panic attacks during finals!!! (it might make more sense if i tell you that i have 65+ units of A's at my current community college and no B's or C's or anything else).

just thought i'd get that off my back, since finals (for me) are underway, starting today. :)

It's bad. I kept a 4.0 for three semesters, got a B the fourth semester, and by the 5th I didn't even care if I had a B - transferitis tho.

i envy you. i have a 3.5 and I hate my grades. i cry at night.
ok i dont, but i'd take sleepless nights with a 4.0 over a 3.5 with crappy sleep nonetheless ( i have crappy sleep)

Nyquil is your friend.

yury, you seriously just need to relax. jesus, you people stress WAYY too much.

jna - it's not really a matter of stressing... it's more like, well..

a train that can't stop.. once you start college, and you get your first semester of A's, then you feel confident to get A's the next semester.... then, the next year, you feel like you should be able to get A's -again- and before you know it, you work your bum off to do it. and then BAM! you have all this pressure (whether it be from family OR yourself) to do from then on out.

you want a 4.0, but at the same time, you sure as hell sometimes wish you didn't.

:)

feuerwerke, i definately know what your talking about, its like crack you cant stop, haha jk, but you know.

it's good to be stressed. keep that 4.0.

^^^it's not good to be stressed, and you don't need it to keep a 4.0

thanks for all your inputs. it's always nice to know that there are other ppl out there who are going through the same things.

i know everyone here did the best they could this year, whatEVER their goal was/is. in the long run, mine has shifted a little.. from being narrow-minded focused on school, to opening up and realizing that we're all here because we want something: knowledge, a degree, friends, experience, etc.

aaaaaand in the mean time,

out goes the worry
and
in comes the summer!!!!!!(aaaaalmost)

one of the better posts ive seen on this site.. finally someone has learned something :)

I lost my 4.0 by 1% on my English Project. Good stuff. I think I'd rather have a high 3.9 than a 4.0 actually. It does seem like less pressure, and I like having multiple numbers behind my GPA.

I'm more satisfied with my 3.95 than a 4.0. It shows that I was a little challenged.

I'm pretty sure I'll still have my 4.0 after this semester but I don't feel pressured to keep it. I'm more concerned about challenging myself a little more every semester and really being prepared for whatever rigorous coursework I might have after I transfer.

I would miss the nice letter the president of the comm college sends out at the end of every fall/spring semester to the students on the presidents list though. How lame is that!

I've gotten a lot of those letters from the school I'm transferring out of. It's sad, I've been invited to their honors program 3 times this year, and I've had to deny it every time.

I had a 3.3 in HS and and 3.89 in college and go into Brown...

I like the 4.0 pressure. When the work starts to pile up it keeps me focused and on point, esp. when I feel like playing golf, watching the game, or having a couple of beers instead of hitting the books. But yeah- it does make grade checks a little over the top.

Are community colleges on a +/- system? I had one A- my first semester of college and could never get a 4.0 again...stupid. I have an A+ this last semester and that doesn't help me at all.

the two california community colleges that I have attended were not on a +/-system.

Yay for the transfers. A second chance for a 4.0.
