ESSAYS

I'm just going to summarize what I wrote about to Columbia...

WHY COLUMBIA: I wrote about the courses and programs I'm interested in taking and mentioned professors I've talked with. Added some creativity too. Absolutely no cliched crap about the beautiful campus or NYC. HAHA :P

CONVEY A SENSE OF WHO YOU ARE: Basically after you read my essay, you would get from my character that I am deep, analytical, and adjustable.

MISC

Please be honest when you're evaluating me. THANKS!

no chance unfortunately

I believe you have a chance, especially if your essays are as great as you say they are. Your verbal score may prove detrimental though, but if you applied Early Action/Early Decision then you have a good chance?

I absolutely think you have a chance. Columbia is a reach for anyone, but the human factor can really push you over the edge.

I think you have a chance. Your extraordinarily low income could push you over the edge. Don't count on it though.

Are you doing ED? Your SAT scores are kind of low... by 200 points...

Columbia? With a 1370? Asian? OP, you have a snowball's chance in hell of getting in.

By the way HeavenWood, colleges are not supposed to give admission preference based on income. They will, however, give aid preference to these same people but that is contingent on whether an applicant gets in in the first place.
