I have a cumilative GPA of 2.7240 and would like to bring it up to a GPA of 3.0+

Hey guys, as you can tell from the title, my cumulative GPA is not very impressive at all. I have a 2.7240 GPA and would like to bring it up to a GPA of a 3.0 or more. I just finished finals this week and did VERY better than last year. I don't know what the hell was wrong with me freshman year and sophomore year, i learned that junior year was the last year to bring up my GPA and when i heard what my GPA was i broke down inside a little. Here are the classes with the final grades i received. Please tell me if it was possible that i brought up my GPA to that range and if i could get into a decent college at least.

Earth Science: A-
Drama/Theater:A-
P.E./HEALTH: A
Forensic Science: A-
Photography: A
Honors Survey of American Lit: C
Honors US History 2: B
Algebra 2: C (Not my strong subject)
Italian 3 Honors: B

This is probably the best grades on my transcript by far, total credits through all of my classes are 40. I also took both the ACT and SAT, scoring a 21 on the ACT and a 1610 on the SAT. I’ve also done Concert Choir, Played Lacrosse, member of the International Thespian Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, Drama club, Unity club, Newspaper Club. I also did some volunteer work helping kids out with their homework assignments last summer and will be doing the same in July. Thanks for reading guys !

You took 9 courses year long? Or were some of these courses for one semester or trimester? Does your school have semesters or trimesters? Does it weight grades for honors courses? What is the typical number of courses per semester or trimester?

You’re asking people to solve a very basic, middle school arithmetic problem and giving insufficient information.

Photography and Forensic science were each 2.5 credits. Our system is based on marking periods (4 to be exact). Yes we do weight courses for honors classes. The typical number of courses per semester is 8

You just need to do a bit of multiplication, addition, and then division. Pretend this is a problem on the SAT.

3.46592356032 should do it…

Most colleges have their own way of calculating GPA, Some cap AP bonus points, some exclude non-academic classes, some drop +/- and many exclude freshman year. So, your real answer depends on where you want to apply.

A higher SAT/ACT would probably also help.

Would that be my current GPA overall ? Or is that the GPA from the classes that i’ve posted ?
