I have a D in my AP Statistics Class.

I messed up this semester with my AP Statistics class and received a D and I plan on attending UCI, but can this result in a resignation of my admission? I already finished my A-G courses for math, and this was an extra class. All of my other grades are fine. I received all A+'s and one B+ in my AP English Literature class. I received a B last semester in the class, I don’t know what happened this semester. I’ve emailed them and they said that I might be fine, but they’re not sure. Do you guys know anyone that got into a UC that received a D in one of their classes?

Rule of thumb for the UC’s is no D’s or F’s in Senior year courses regardless if you have meet the a-g requirements. That said, you should follow up with a call NOW and find out your options before your final transcripts are due in July. Be proactive and hopefully you can salvage your acceptance.

Would it be better if I call them, email them, or speak directly to the admission counselor in person?

If possible, speak to an admission counselor in person just so you can get get first chance information directly from the source on your options. Also, if you can bring in your HS transcripts for them to review on the spot, it could help.

I was just rescinded by Fullerton for a 68^ . Good luck

contact them ASAP and see what your options are. If they won’t work with you - start your plan B ASAP. CCs get full quickly.

Update: My offer was withdrawn from UCI.

Sorry to hear that. Things will work out. There is more than one path to reach your goals.

I have a quick question since I got accepted as a undeclared major with it stating that I only need to have a weighted 3.0 gpa doesn’t specify d’s or f’s and I currently have a D in my AP physics 2 class soon to be a c and had a d inthis class first semester what are the chances I will be revoked.I have a overall weighted GPA of over a 3.2 In the second semester the grade became a C.Also message UCI throught the portal about it

@Dandaivin: All UC’s specify that you need to maintain a weighted GPA of 3.0 (unweighted for UCLA/UCB), but they also require you pass any a-g courses Senior year with a C or higher. The UC website also states that if you receive a grade lower than a C, you need to notify them. It does not matter that you exceed the laboratory science requirements, a D is a D but getting a C 2nd semester could help your case. I suggest you call admissions directly and not wait for an email response.

Below is an excerpt of UCI’s provisional admission contract::::::::::::
CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION TO UCI

  1. You must:

Meet all provisional requirements as expressed in this contract, and in your personalized Freshman Conditions as found in your MyAdmission account at www.admissions.uci.edu.
Receive a high school diploma or equivalency.
Complete all senior year courses as listed on your application.
Maintain at least a weighted 3.0 senior year GPA in UC-approved courses.

The following situations may result in the withdrawal of your admission offer:
a) any D or F grades in your senior year a-g courses,
b) taking courses that are less rigorous than reported on your application,
c) not maintaining UC Eligibility.

That’s really a mess up system. Weird that they would withdraw your application just because of a grade.

that’s why i’m a nervous trainwreck right now

My Offer for admission from CSU Fullerton was rescinded as I got a 68 D+ in English. I graduated with high honors and 3 scholarships… my GPA when I graduated was a 3.78. My GPA for final semester was a 3.4. I had a bad class for 1 semester… and its all over. I spoke with Dir of Admissions and was told … no appeal. So you should be worried.

As for the D as long as the transcript verifies that I raised the grade in my second semester as it should I shoud be fine they said and that it is basically up to the admissions counselor now.I guess I’ll just have to hope for the best and pray the dreaded words don’t show up on my portal. One good sign though they have continued to email news about uci.I got another email yesterday that asked me about the new engineering academy they are going to open.

im currently admitted as undeclared so that may help?idk

I was admitted as undeclared as well, and I also messaged my admission counselor about my D early June, and they told me that I have enough semesters of math to be okay. But I was still rescinded. I also graduated with a 4.0 senior year, and passed the rest of my classes with an A+ and 1 B+. I tried messaging them again, asking why I was rescinded even though they told me I was going to be ok, and they just sent me an automated message.

Also, don’t go to the admissions office directly to ask because I tried doing that, and drove an hour and 40 minutes to get there, and my admission counselor refused to talk to me. He was just standing there, playing with a balloon. The people at the desk said that it would be better just to message your admission counselors through the message center.

I understand your frustration but, it sounds like you’ve done what you can do - appeal if you think it will help. But, right now, you need a plan for next year and places are filling up fast at most CCs. I’d focus most of my energy there - on on a late admit school.
Good luck

wait when did you get rescinded?
