I am so worried right now because the final exam dropped my grade from like 75 to a 68. I really want to attend UC Davis and I’d be absolutely crushed if my admissions got revoked. My others grades hold up and I have also taken 6 science classes along with physics. Ive checked around a few CCs to see if I can remake it, but I cant because of the budget cuts. What should I report? Am I screwed?

Are you sure there isnt a local CC that is offering a physics class inthe summer?

You’ll have to report it regardless. Hopefully theres a legitimate enough reason so they dont rescind your admission. Try and ask your teacher other ways to make up for it.

Yeah, if you can’t take it over the summer I believe they have the right to rescind you… and there would be a good chance they would. But I would definitely call the admissions office tomorrow to talk to them about it.

If you can’t retake physics at a community college, check with UCD admissions to see an online physics class would work to bring up your grade. I believe Stanford has a program of online classes for high school students. There are probably others.

Although receiving a “D” grade is not meeting your conditions of admissions, it is not a guarantee that your admissions will be revoked/rescinded nor is it a guarantee that your admissions offer will be upheld. This is a situation that the Undergraduate Admissions office will need to review to make a decision regarding your admission status. Please complete the “Reporting Application and Coursework Changes” form on the MyAdmissions site to report this grade and provide the information necessary for our review.
