okay so I live in WI and I want to go to a university with a pretty campus (its my weakness) but affordable. The only universities I have come up with so far are indiana state university and ball state university. They are both apart of the MHEC and I want to stay in that to save money. Does anyone know of any other pretty campuses from the participating colleges?? and illinois for some reason isnt listed so if anyone knows any IL schools that participate with pretty campuses PLEASE let me know =)

What is your budget? How much will your family spend?

What is the financial agreement? Instate rates? 150% of instate tuition? ???

MHEC is the Maryland Higher Education Commission. What is the organization you’re trying to use?

^^^^

Hmmm, the student lives in Wisconsin.

What’s the name of the agreement that WI has with other states? And, what is the financial agreement?

MHEC is Midwestern Higher Education Compact. It consists of 12 states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin. However, it is not a tuition compact for midwest states. That would be Midwest Student Exchange Program, and includes Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and Wisconsin.

brownsugar5199, the prettiest campuses we have visited by far have been Iowa and Kansas.

Illinois, like OH, must not participate in the exchange programs.
Wisconsin would be less expensive to attend (the equivalent of Ball State if you were in-state).

If you are interested in leaving the WI area, you should try Brown :-)

my ACT is 20 and my GPA is 2.75, i’m going to retake the ACT in hopes for a better score. my budget is 9,000/semester w/o room and board. thats why it’s so hard to find a pretty campus with that budget. they all cost from 30,000/year-50,000/year

Aquinas College in Michigan is located on an old estate and is pretty. With your gpa/act you would receive $11,000 in grants. There is a cost calculator on the website that would give you more information based on your parent’s income.

U Nebraska Kearney is part of the MSEP and has a nice campus. Just be sure to look closely at the MSEP requirements. Not all programs are eligible and you do need certain gpa/act requirements to get the discounted price.
