I have a few Qs for Reading and science

For Reading, I got a 31 in June, but I still need to improve my time efficiency. With the Prose Fiction passage, I tried reading the whole thing and then when I got to the questions, I couldn't remember most of the stuff the questions were asking. With the Natural/Social Science passages it's easier to look at the questions first and EASILY find that pertinent part in the passage, but no so much with prose fiction. I think the main part of Reading is how quickly you can find that pertinent part once you read the question, so is it better to do a comprehensive but quick look(going slowly with your pencil) through the entire passage looking for that one key word, or doing a really quick skim to find that part? I feel like when I read it quickly I didn't get a full grasp, and if I read in chunks, I might miss a key fact for a question I think only requires the 1st paragraph and then the answer can completely change if you read on.

For Science(23), again it depends on the passage, with some passages I went straight into the questions and had an easier time but with others I had to eventually read the passage, if I didn't I was missing key parts. I always try to tell myself that the science questions are extremely easy because they are, you just might not get the question because you don't realize that there's a Table 4 that answers the question and you're looking at Table 3. If you run into a section in which the passage is EXTREMELY long, should you still read it all eventually? The purpose is getting a good score, not understanding the passage, and you don't have to read the entire passage, but eventually how much of a passage will you want to read?

If you get to one of those questions that you can't answer immediately, you feel like you want to stay on it because you know the answer is really easy, but is it better move on to the next and come back to it immediately or keep looking and really calm your mind down? Usually you might have to read more into the passage but with the time limit you're frantically thinking either go to the next question or re-read the passage to find the answer.

I agree with you with the science section. Some of them just seem really hard. Or there's 2 that look correct, but either it's too vague or it's too specific.

As for reading, skim the passages quickly. Don't read the words verbally in your mind, just scan the best you can. It will take practice. Try getting a book and practicing moving your eyes as fast as you can while retaining as much as possible. Then after each paragraph, as yourself, "What did I learn?" or "What did that paragraph say to me?"
