I have a few questions

For triples, does the person who sleeps on the bunk on top of the desk usually use that desk and closet under their bed? Or is it completely up to first come first serve? (it would seem weird to use a desk with someone elses bed on top of you, wouldn't it??)

Is it a good idea to buy textbooks when I get there? I don't know about ordering them online or whether to buy new or used....

Am I screwed if I have 3 finals in a row on the same day ?? How can I change my schedule so it's not like that?? (is it an online thing?? )

If my move in time is Friday 4-6, will they get mad if I come around like 11 or 12?? I'm coming from SD and traffic is really bad during my move in time,
(will they make me wait until 4?/ )

I think that's it,, i'd appreciate any help I can get here :)

yah DONT wait till 4-6,
It would be better to just come at 12-2 and see what happens. It would take the same time to wait in traffic anyways.

First come first serve.

Yes. Better to buy the books in person.

Yes. You can't change the date of your finals (believe me, I tried it because I also had 3 finals in a row once) so you'd have to either drop an entire class on URSA by October, or just cram like a madman.

No, they won't get mad.

there's no rule... you should work this out with the rest of your roommates before you move in. usually, the one on the loft bed would have the desk under it. however, it's not always the case. the room that i will be in is an example; the bottom bunk student is using the desk under the loft bed (the person who has the loft bed is using one of the desks on the side near the window).

i like to buy my books when i get there. that's because i try to physically pick out the best quality of the used books. and i'm traditional like that haha; i never order online.

yea probably.

I have a question, who gets the storage under the bottom bunk in a triple? is it first come first serve as well? I'm the last of my roomates to arrive....

Traditionally, the guy with the "third closet" underneath one of the bunks gets the storage under the bottom bunk, to compensate for the lack of drawers inside the "third closet".

haha ok, looks like i might be getting the "third closet". Is the third closet basically like a small wooden coat closet that's approaching 5' tall, with a bar for hangers inside? On the virtual 3D tour on the housing website the third closet looks pretty small. I'm assuming it obviously offers less storage than the regular closets?

You're right on all counts. It's a 5' high coat closet with a hanger bar inside.

I have one just like it at home, i guess, except mine is made out of metal :)

this "third closet" is an actual movable closet right? and the 3rd person also gets the drawers on the bottom of both beds or just one?

**********!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I heard people moving in on friday are helping set up welcome week? is this true? Because i didnt sign up for this !!!*****************

lol - you might want to find a new source of rumors, kingroger

this "third closet" is an actual movable closet right? and the 3rd person also gets the drawers on the bottom of both beds or just one?

Yes the closet moves, but in a triple there's nowhere to move it lol

And in triples, there is an extra drawer only under the non-bunked bed (not both), and yes one person should get both the third closet and the drawers - but obviously all arrangements in your room are up to you and your roommates. None of this is set in stone.

welcome week assistants are moving in on tuesday the 20th.

i thought there is a desk under the non bunked bed? hmmm

yeah there's a desk, but not extra drawers for clothes like there is under the non-bunked bed.

how much less room is there in a triple exactly? cause im planning on bringing 2 of those storage organizers that has drawers to put stuff. they didnt have a virtual tour for de neve...so i dunno how similar it would be to the triple room in sunset

lol icarus u're confusing me. are u refering the non-bunked bed to the bed/desk combo? @_@

haha sorry - i meant to say "non-lofted" bed. The non-lofted bed (i.e. the bunked one with two stacked beds) has extra drawers underneath it.
